About the only think that could have prevented compliance is the tyres, but as far as I am aware it doesn't need to have new tyres, just ADR compliant tyres.

the air filter sounds like someone either didn't do it, or swapped it out again later.

Personally I would be replacing fluids and filters anyway, unless you know the mechanic who did the service and can confirm that it was done.

This is the reason most imports come into Queensland directly from Japan , i found so many cars that were registered in QLD with no ADRs done "AT ALL "no side intrusion bars or seat belts how f...ck does this still happen . Pisses me off when you bring a car into S.A and get butt raped .

Mate, gone are the days of a handshake and your word being enough. It's such a shame. :(

I lost $1000 putting a car back through auction just last weekend on that exact principle, so called friend of a friend...

Depends on the compliancing mob in QLD. My V36 had to be complianced there as my agent knew of nobody reliable in NSW who could do the newer 7 speed autos. Bruce Gearing did a great job and no issues when I had to blue slip it in Sydney.
