I'm looking into the possibility of importing an R31 passage wagon, as I'll need a wagon soon, don't have stagea $ , and they're apparently a bit more plush than the aussie GXE wagon.

So far I know...

-IRS

-RB20ET and auto (RB20E or CA18S in lower spec models)

-late models have Aussie S3 Ti style front end.

-should be fairly similar inside to a Passage GT hardtop, ie yakuza pimp style.

I have no idea on whether the rear suspension is interchangeable with the coupe/passage HT, or what sort of money they might command.

Any info on them and pricing would be handy. BTW, I'm interested in the later editions with the updated front styling.

Ash....... 15 years ;)

thats cool

I wasnt sure if it still mattered :)

But i thought... that you cant bring in 92 model GTR's or whatever because Nissan Aust did.

Does that mean when 92 GTR's are '15' years old then you can bring them in?

wagon with irs that would be nice!, if u cant find any over there u can always get a gxe, and put a ncie interior, and instal power windows etc. do something u like, but id prefer one from japan

Thats why I'm interested in them, in a nutshell. It would be ok to do up an aussie one with Ti bits etc, but I reckon a jap one, with IRS (as far as I know, I've seen a few references to R200 diffs etc on Jap pages), passage style interior etc would be nice, and just more "factory" than a retrimmed up Aussie GXE with a bunch of retrofitted interior bits.

Besides, I've already got a GX sedan, I'd like something different!

yeah, going by the 2 door R31's, I'd say the jap R31 interior is much nicer that the locally made one. The local Ti interior was a shocker, especially the seats. The silhouette interior was ok, especially the GTS silhouette....

I was contemplating the idea of an RB25 or RB30DET in a local wagon, but I just dont have the time...

What are the prices like ont eh import wagons, on the road???

that makes 3 things i learnt today :D

Brain Overload.

mmm, i'd put money on them being IRS, simply because the aint gonna take the Oz Live-axle rear end with the shitty BW diffs over to Japan when they had something better already at thier disposal.

As for prices, definately keep us posted. Im interested to see what they go for.

Zahos... there is an RB30DET (maybe TT) around Paco Vale.

Dunno if it's finished yet, but i've seen it at various build stages and it was looking the goods all the times i'd seen it.

Must call in and check out the progress of it :)

not sure about that.. i went in a passage the other day.. wasn't in the best nick but i think i actually prefer the aussie ones.. especially with a bit of rice :D and availability of parts (for the most part)

well floody.. i dunno.. your money - if you want something different definitely go the import model. But personally, I'd just say buy a cheap aussie one and spend $7k on it and it'll balls over an import version. But if you already have an aussie one...

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
