Just bought myself a full set of project mu SCR rotors, and got a bit of a surprise when I moved the package into my garage. They are VERY HEAVY rotors which I was not expecting from a midrange Project Mu rotor!! I'm thinking I should have just gone for the more expensice SCR pro's now!! :/ Has anyone else noticed the same thing with these rotors or others (esp. dba 4000)?

DBA, Alcon, D2/KSport, RDA. Pick up a 356mm or a 380mm in 2 piece rotor and you certainly know you've got a hunk of metal in your hands so a 1 piece comes as no surprise. Don't think a 2-piece is massively lighter though because they aren't.

Don't stress over it too much.

yeah i know when my project mu rotors arrived they felt heavy as hell.. but damn do they stop~ well :D

though DBA's have always been heavy also whenever ive had to lift them!

Depending on which Project Mu rotor you have the number of cooling vanes will vary. For some reason the two peice rotors do not have continuous vanes in them but some (all?) of the one piece do. Obviously the more cast iron you have the heavier the things are going to be.

The upside is the more mass and the more vanes the cooler the rotor will run.
