R33 shortcomings? Are they there? What aspects pi5s you off?

Luv my car, but no car is perfect. If you wanna me to b1tch abt it, here goes

(in order of severity):

- Boot is definitely too small for a car that size.

- Non foldable rear seat. considering the boot was so small they should have considered

this to maximise storage during odd occasion where u have to haul something a bit large.

- Body a little bit too long for a sports car, can be awkward to reverse park at sometimes

(my prev 4 dr galant hatch was easier to reverse park despite its longer than my r33!)

- Only 1 cup holder (c'mon man the centre console should be wide enuf to be designed

to accommodate at least two 2 holders.)

- Too many coin holders (why so much?? 2 at the centre console and 1 at the dash WTF)

- Autolock can be annoying for some. for those who like it, why only on passenger side?

(I myself is ambivalent abt it, neither hate nor like it)

- Interior styling could have been less drab (too much grey) but again for cars designed

10 yrs ago it was quite an ok design (e.g. similar yr RX7 interior has nicer look)

- ABS & Dual airbags should have been std for all R33 (I got ABS only).

- Stock boost level should've been 1-2 psi higher (around 8 or 9 ps stock would be nice).

- Mine seems to have stock 16x6.5"? At least 16x7" would be better. (I put 225/50 and

it looks a bit too wide, so I'm sure mine is 6.5" wide rims, not 7")

- Access to battery is difficult, also reduces space in the boot.

- No centre rear seat means 1 less mate to haul, but most sports coupes r like that so

I put this one as a last one on the list.

you guys are locky to have a cup holder. I have to pick up a hitchhiker to hold my sh*t for me when driving. it's good, they change gears for you aswell. if you've ever tried to roll a smoke while driving, you'll know where i'm coming from.

oh..also i forgot.. the damn petrol consumption. When my R31 which is 8 years older than my r33, and 3L for that matter gets about 120km on $10 of petrol, my r33 gets a pissy 70km you gotta wonder! Highway driving. Expensive over time

Are you sure? for $10 of petrol you should get around 100km of highway driving... 70km sounds about right for city driving with mix of traffic, but not for hwy. Unless of course you're paying $1.5/L or you're always on the wrong side of 110 .

i hate that passenger window switch on passenger side so much, i opted for an r32. then i realised i'd be driving the car, and wouldn't have to put up with it. Shoot me. I'm stupid

I think it feels too big. Just my opinion

the button that stops the passenger from playing with the windows is gold. I had a ripper brewing while my mate was on the phone in the passenger. Put the window up and locked it on him then dropped it. He could hardly talk on the phone after it haha :fart:

ohhh and i think the doors are too long on the 32. If you are parked on a 4% + grade, they tend to swing open into other cars. And they are heavy too. Suppose its a price you pay for driving such a stylish car.

nope..definitely around 70-80km.. then again its got all these flashy gizmos in it.. dunno what they do :confused:

im with chef_32 on the cup holders.. ANY would be nice....

-Like the interior though... old school, practical

-the whole car feels SOLID - more so than many falcodore or eqiv. larger cars.

- nice snug seating, im 6'1 and i don't have to much trouble... little bit short on the base for long cruises maybe....

-clean, direct steering - feels sporty (2.5 turns lock/lock is nice)

-lets face it - ALL skylines have a kind of timeless shape....

-i don't find it too big though...

-boot space is only JUST adequate - hockey goal keeper + "sound enthusiast" = big bag + 2 x 12" subs = jump-on-the-damn-boot-so-the-silly-thing-will-close !!

other wise, i love it ! Turns heads, attracts cops, what else could a guy want?

-Boot is way too small, I can fit a stroller in there and that's about it.

-Plastic lenses on headlamp assemblies tend to yellow with age, I ended up replacing mine since they were yellowing on the inside also.

That's about all I can think of, anything else I didn't like I ended up upgrading anyway. All in all it's an excellent car, I've had zero problems with it. I needed a newer replacement for my "family car" A31 Cefiro and a SII GTS25t 4-door fit the bill perfectly.

yeah the headlights do suck. and they are so damn difficult to open that its almost not worth it to clean the inside, then resealing them is difficult.

bit more expensive to buy new ones over here though i suspect... send me your old ones

I agree that the doors on 32s are too heavy. I was in my mates gtir and the doors on them weigh stuff all.

Sorry about hijacking this 33 thread. If i was to start picking at the 33, i would be here all day.

Woah! this is incredible.... BOBJONES mentions a rust problem (where abouts mate?), this is not a good look!!

PANDAm mentions cup holders.....are they not capable of taking 375ml cans when the loose piece of plastic in the centre console is inverted? (if yours is still in the car.)

Auto-door-lock was an interesting one also, do all 32 and/or 33's have this function..(or are they supposed to have this function..mine doesn't).

I was expecting petrol consumption to be subjective due to our various mods, but I'd imagine that 150kms on $20.00 would be just acceptable..(when we're not driving silly)

Keep em coming, I'm sure there is more..

The RUST issue really interests/concerns me.

And I was waiting for someone to mention those 'pesky' opaque but potentially beautiful headlights on the 33!! (SEWID).

2. Inadequacy of stock injectors plus total biatch to change them.

3. Rattly/loose windows (affects all skylines, so I'm told).

4. Problematic stock AFM

5. That latex shit on dash fascia & drivers door insert (peels on sight)

6. Propensity for un-insulated exhaust to melt aircon drain tube resulting in coolant saturated interior.

7. Ridiculous number of P platers with FulsikIswearOnMySimCardBro 20" chrome wheels & white leather interiors who think they own the streets, giving true enthusiasts a bad rep.

8. Ubiquitous, Ubiquitous, Ubiquitous.

9. Acres of bland grey plastic confronting the passenger.

10. Huge C pillars don't give the best rear view.

11. Glove box capacity is lame.

But I love it just the same.
