Its not the gasket.

My guess:

It is an oscillation of the diaphragm, because the setup is different on a gtr, the pressure settings for open and closed arent right for gtst.

The throttle flap is much closer to the bov on rb25 and 20, so it would react different when you shut the throttle on an rb26 with throttle bodies closer to the head.

This is also relative to where the bov activation hose is located.

So its probly a pressure wave that is going just the right distance (or wrong distance cos its not right) to make it open and shut so quickly.

Never thought of the Proximity thing. Good thinkin' Mik.

And yeah, It's not Gasket flap. I reckon the aged spring and diaphragm gets the vibes and gives out the Frooty noise. Some do it, some don't.

Still reckon the GTS-t Bov makes for better throttle response anyhow.

I've been running a GTR BOV on my 25Neo for a few months. When it first went on I was sufficiently amused by the farty noise that it took me a while to realise that the car no longer felt as peppy coming onto boost as it had been before. Swapped back to the RB20 BOV (that's what I was using on my car since the Neo transplant went in, they're supposed to be the same thing anyway) yesterday. In my very brief unscientific testing since, I am sure that the car comes on boost more briskly with the little BOV.

It takes more finger force to push the GTSt BOV valve open. I'm not sure what that means. I haven't fully thought through (or done any testing against a vaccum pump) to see what it takes to make each of the open to know whether one being open more that than other of for longer as post turbo pressure starts to rise is enough to make the car perform differently. I suppose if the bigger GTR BOV is open until later in the accel event, then it will waste more pressure back to the turbo inlet before it finally shuts and therefore soften the boost rise rate.
