Yes. The pod on it's own is legal. The problem is that many also run front mount intercoolers, which counts as another intake mod.

The rule as it is written, is one intake modification...so technically, if you upgrade a standard front mount (in the case of a GTR) to an aftermarket...that counts as a mod.

there will be a lot of blitzes on real soon. i work in the media so i get the heads up about them. I shall let people know if there are any. they wont really target imports but if u are driving one and happen to have to go thru one there is a good chance they will get you in to have a look.

I dont have any problems with the gtr. this is why i got rid my R33 gtst. got pulled over all the time.

its an r33 what you think they are worth? and highly modified its worth less as its probably not coming with a rwc.

mods have no value.

I'm more concerned as to why he wants to buy a GTS..

Just reread OP, thought it said it was a GTR!

  • 2 weeks later...

Well your all saying that you get picked on, here are a few stories of bad driving from last week that I saw. (none in imports too)

Idiot 1: drink driver crashes car, 4 times limit, Learner driver too without fully licensed driver.

Idiot 2: Learner driver crashes car when he had 2 mates in car that could drive on P plates.

Idiot 3: runs through red light right in front of marked police car, fails to indicate twice, does 15km/h over speed limit and only had one tail light.

Idiot 4: Learner driver again without fully licensed driver, no lights on at night and then tries to tell me she is her 44yo mum and just looks 17.

Idiot 5: Another one that runs red light in front of marked police car, no tail lights at night and fails to indicate twice.

Add to this a pursuit, and number of other cars caught doing 20+ over limit. All this was right in front of me or called to scene of accident.

And from the other side of the fence, i went to a dyno day about 2 months ago, a few weeks later i got an epa noise letter in the mail, so did 4 other ppl, i know 2 of the other ppl that got a letter, no one saw a cop car and the times on the letters spanned an hour so the gutless mr proctor (how ever his name is spelt) was hiding somewhere writing down rego's, it was publicized that the event was registered with the local cops so every one behaved themselves and were not doing stupid shit, mine and my mates car were 92db (dont know about the third), at normal driving conditions there is no way in hell that any one could have picked 2db from a distance.

This particular cop has visited many workshops around here and has told them that he does not care if they have engineers or not he is going to target every modified car and make there life hell.

I do believe cancer was invented for people like this!

    • This lady loved her FD for 25 years!  https://www.topspeed.com/80-year-old-woman-donates-fd-rx-7-mazda/ My brother in law. He's nice enough to let me drive it whenever. He'll likely not see this, but I'll try: @r-is-for-fun got any pics?
    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
    • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
    • Even though I have some pretty good (brand) ratchet ringies, I avoid using them to break open tight bolts. A broken ratchet is very annoying.
