Why billet flywheel?

Are you asking why it's billet or why a billet flywheel is required?

Billet flywheel because of the risk of bursting (not a spelling mistake - burst not bust) the standard cast iron one once you get over certain torque levels. They are like a ticking timebomb. Lots of people run the standard one at power levels over 450whp and nothin happens. Then one day BOOM off comes a leg for some poor chap at the track.

Not to mention the car is also written off because its cut your chassis rail in half.

Not worth the risk for the unknown quantity. I know enough to know that an organic plate isn't going to burst a flywheel and neither is 400hp at the wheels no matter how hard you try. 500hp on the other hand, have seen a few go bang.

Your choice

Billet Flywheel is also lighter, and the NPC flywheels have cooling channels that direct some airflow through your clutch. Not sure how effective it is but good idea

kinda wish I'd just gone a twin plate, but I'm happy enough with what I have

I puchased the NPC organic today, it has been stamped on it Exedy UFO52

What would be the difference between the exedy sports tuff clutch rated 280kw and the NPC organic (330kwrated), the material must be the same if it has exedy stamped on it.

Yanks use a "scattershield" or a steel bellhousing to protect drivers at drags. If you buy a Nismo twin plate or similar you get a better flywheel with the package.

Not just for big V8s:

BUt thats in a Honda and Honda's are for girls dicks.

Had my organic NPC fitted yesterday, is alot better than the exedy,

the gears seems easier to go in too so maybe the old one was dragging or not bled properly, and feels like it pulls harder and very smooth engagement :whistling:

So NPC and my tuner , FTW :P
