Fully Sick Sporty KIA Rio with bonnet scoop!

Hey,

Just thought I'd post some pics of a 'sporty' looking car I saw at uni this week. From a far I saw the bonnet scoop and thought it may have been a civic sedan (which would be funny anyway), however as I approached it I saw the well respected KIA badge on the front. Sarcasm aside, this would have to be one of the more pointless mods I've ever seen on a car (my mate has a KIA and we always make jokes about how he should invest in a kit - little did I know KIA kits even existed!!).

Has anyone else seen any outrageously bad/unnecessary mods to similar cars? I remember seeing another person driving around uni with a civic where the only mods were fluro mud flaps.

Anyway, hope you find some humour in the attached pics and apologies for the bad quality - they were taken on my phone camera.

Cheers

EDIT: Removed plates!

I saw a car today that made me physically sick...

It was a lime green metallic VN Commodore, some kind of lower bodykit and a GT wing on the boot

The GT wing and portions of the bodykit were painted bright purple as well as the window surrounds.

It had a stock ride height and 15 inch mags

What an atrophy...

I remember sometime ago they did release a limited run of this blue wrx lookalike model. So I believe the way that KIA looks is how it came from the factory, correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunate for the owner, he/she not only paid to get a lookalike WRX but also the attention of being laughed at.

Yeah, used to be one parker in the shopping centre at my local shops (yes, IN they have some shop set up with a few cars there, pretty dumb idea. CAN I TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE MATE?) anyways, a crummy blue one like that featured there for a while... my mates and i always had a good laugh at it on the way to Coles. :P

Seen 2 "fooley seeck" holden astras.

A dark red one with a weird bodykit, mesh grille, fartcan exhaust and chrome wheels.

Another blue one which had a fartcan, chrome wheels and 2 (yes 2!) spoilers. One on top of the other.

Both drived by people on p plates with cappa jackets and fubu caps

Saw an old late 80s or possibly early 90s Falcon GLi (square-ish shape) with a tail light black plastic insert to create an illusion of Skyline's 4 round tail lights.... LOL hahaha.

Last seen @ McDonalds Clifton Hill, seen it around there 2nd time already, so could be someone who lives/works in the area.

Untill you've seen an excel that has pink interior, body kit with some sort of spaztic plane wing that moulds into the back of the car, fully sick sports zorst that sounds like one of those wet farts that dribble and the portions of the body kit that are not stardard are painted in blue, you have seen nothing!!! :bonk:

i saw something in a car mag here that beats the daewoo :)

a peugot 106 with bodykit, mags, paint, wing, etc.........NO speed enhancing mods, but they still put a racing harness in it ;) infact with all the extra weight. a stock model would run faster........remember this is a 1.6L engine so they didnt really need a racing harness :headbang:

oh and this was the feature car for this mag, not a piss take..............

    • So these external kits with the machined block for remote solenoid mount will only work on a NEO head and RB30 or RB26 bottom end   For an R33 head on a 26 bottom end the remote vct kit is to resolve RB26 manifold adaptor plates etc  IF you try to use the remote VCT on an RB30 or RB26 bottom end with an R33 head then  you can starve the cam journal??? I have one of these kits from bits I had years ago before plans changed  I don't understand how that tracks with this video   https://youtu.be/RuPiI22Mplk?feature=shared   This looks like I can run the v termite vct kit to feed the VCT on an R33 head on an RB26 bottom end?!?!?   Lol.... don't v have these problems on RB20s
    • Yeah i know that MAF is no no for this type of BoV. The engine has no BoV and "hose/pipes" ..it was all deleted (or probably it was not even on the engine when it was bought  ) It does that "sutututu" noise which i kinda do not want(atmospheric is better IMO...but standalone ECU)  What are the cons of running without blow off on stock RB25DET NEO. It running 5-7 PSI max (it has boost controller)   EDIT: and can Nistune be "tuned" to know there is no BoV to i dont know "know" and be better for a car? I read so many info about no BoV. One guy saying it is bad and hurting the turbo/engine/car and other that it does not...
    • Yeah. OK. I'll say the same thing I say to everyone. You do not have to use 100% throttle all the time.
    • Mainly being afraid of breaking something on something i've poured so much money into haha
