Read the whole thread before you post irrational generalisations...

and I dont think that I or any other GTR owners in this post sound like wankers..

I've read the whole thread. Perhaps you need to re-address the issues you are pressing in order to display a more diplomatic approach.

Theres been enough GTST v GTR crap on these boards.

I never intended on making any comparisons between the GTST GTR.

You should be intelligent enough to realise what I was trying to acheive by reading my initial posting. And yes I did readdress the issue by stating that I should have including skylines as a whole and not just the GTR in a latter post.

either way this is stupid...I didnt realise there was so much tall-poppy syndrome around in a skyline forum.

You guys can take this to the track . im outa this convo before it gets worse :D we should have  acruise to settle this down and all chat about our cars :) hehe comeon guys where suppose to be all friends here in this wonderfull community!

maybe I just wont try and post anything again.... I tried to make a fun post with hopefully some interesting experiences thats all....

the only euro/skyline drag that I know of is when leewahs GTR walloped a V12 Diablo from an 80KM roll, just wanted to hear some similar stories (good or bad) and not get into shlong comparisons between skyline owners. :(

This has been going on for three pages now and I don't think I've seen anyone posting up actual times of these Euro cars.

1999 Lamborghini Diablo GT - Quarter 11.6 seconds

1991 Ferrari F40 - Quarter 11.8 seconds

1995 Ferrari F50 - Quarter 12.1 seconds

Theres just a few, my usual site didn't have too many decent times in regards to BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. Having quite a mental blank at the moment.

Buster, sorry to say your skyline will get whooped by a GTR R33. just put 15psi and zorst the R will flog your ass.

First night out - Zeu5 vs Bu5ter. Let's roll back the clock a bit and you can put $5k on the GT-R with an exhaust, high flowed turbos, etc etc, and then I'll go spend it on beer and hookers.

Great times, hope we're back on track now.... anyone got qtr time for latest ENzo and Porsche GT2?

Give me a Gemballa GTR-Evo II or RUF Turbo R Porsche.

Or a TVR Cerbera Speed12

Or a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale

Or a BRABUS SL65

Or a Rennteck Viper TT

Then bring your Mines R34 and we'll race LaL (at the track of course, officer :))

GT-R is beaut and I'd donate soft, squishy parts of my anatomy to own one but for me Euros are still supreme. That's my 0.000000000000002c anyways....

European build quality? You can't polish a turd, i'm afraid. x2 if it's Italian.

This thread isn't about whether or not the GTR is a supercar or not.

The personal attacks must stop here. The attitudes and opinions should not as this is what makes this such an interesting place to be. I think people should get their facts straight before throwing insults around.

Here's a couple:

1/ BU5TER has run NUMEROUS 11 second passes on an internally stock RB25DET with an RB25DET head. Not "once" as implied in this thread.

2/ The people that speak the loudest and most often about quarter mile times are those that have neither run the times nor have the proof to support their claims. Subsequently, IMHO, these are the people that have the LEAST right to claim what their car does (or worse, SHOULD do).

3/ Brett said that a well set-up gtst could stick it to a GTR. I thouroughly disagree!! An extremely poorly and bodgily set up R33 GTST (backyard bodge) runs high 11's - low 12's ALL DAY!

4/ No, I am NOT one of the people described in point 2.

In short, there are more than one or two people in this thread walking a very fine line. Keep it nice or you will not be welcome on this forum again.

Thankyou.

Adrian

This thread highlights the absolute worst in GTR owners.

You guys need to get over yourselves. The GTR is a great car, but it's PEANUTS when compared to European Supercars (Porsche, Ferrari, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc).... There's absolutely no comparison.

Buster, sorry to say your skyline will get whooped by a GTR R33. just put 15psi and zorst the R will flog your ass.

That sentence is akin to a torrential downpour of diahorrea. You need to take some Kaopectate for your mouth.

The GTR is not and will never be classed as a SUPERCAR.

A japanese car is not and will never be on the same level as Euro Supercars. (current models)

A GTR 33 is... $40k+/-? A new Merc or BMW is $70k for a very basic model of their cars, bottom line GTR's are fantastic cars, both in terms of performance and dollar for dollar value but lets not get carried away in the sceme of things.

Gotta admit though the gtr's from factory.

Lets compare them to something that is also mass produced. I don't think its fair to compare them to the big names with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti.

To me, it has to be compared to something more like, BMW, Audi etc.

Because when you look at the cars I have mentioned, Ferrari in particular, they are fairly minimalistic. Not much interior on most of them, the dash looks like a few gauges and thats about it.

Compared to a 34 with a full interior, nice dash and cluster, along with all the usual goods you can expect on the r34 gtr.

Thats why I reckon it has to be compared to something more like a BMW or something that has an interior and looks more like an actual passenger car.

I got told the other night of the Audi RS6, have a bit of a look on quarter mile times of that if you can find it. Heres the info I have http://www.supercars.net/cars/2004@$Audi@$...nt%20Plusg.html

now a commodore.. what a supercar :)

To me a supercar is something that costs ridiculously high amounts of money, generally looks ugly as crap inside, and for the most part hand built and only a very limited number are built each year. And will depreciate faster than most will earn in a decade. But straight out of the factory will pounce anything close to a stock car on the road.

Snowman, can answer your question NSX vs GTR, as he has owned both. If I recall correctly, the NSX doesn't come close to his GTR... but I think that had something to do with it being auto... But Snowy's moved up since then and learnt how to drive a manual :)

Seriously, he'd be the best to answer it.

Ok I can answer this question - but there are some considerations here in my opinions on the whole GTR v's Euro supercars.

To answer the my NSX vs My GTR question then I'd have to say the GTR kills it in everyway except for cruising comfort. Its a much greater weapon than the NSX ever was.

HOWEVER - this is because the GTR is MODIFIED. The NSX was stock. And that is the beauty and the reason why I bought the GTR. If I was to get a stock GTR then the difference would be a lot less. But the $$$ to modify an NSX is frightening.

For me - when I think of the question of GTR v Euro supercars I always think of the GTR in its potential form rather than its STOCK form. For those that live in Melbourne and get out to track days, one of the common track day is with the Maserati Club. Now the last day out there was 2 Ferrari 360's and 3 Porsche GT3 RS's as well as many other impessive Euro cars. The fact was that at the end of the day the top 5 times were held by 4 modified GTR's and a modified GTO. (Not me - I was back in 15th! LOL)

Its like all cars - someone mentioned about the BMI vid when the the Evo's and Rex's beat the R34 GTR - again in this instance it was a case of a stock R34 GTR (non V Spec) V's lightly moddified EVO's and Rex's. For me - the Japanese sports cars are designed to be easily modified to gain a great deal of extra performance and that HAS to be considered when comparing them to the Euro cars which are not designed that way. Its also the fault and the reason why I think the GTR is better than the NSX. I think in stock form all the Euro supercars will kill a stock GTR - but then how many stock GTR's are there out there? Make it any Euro super car v's a GTR with $25K worth of mods and it will be a different story.

My 2 cents.
