Driving home tonight, the tacho, speedo, odo & everything in my instrument cluster went limp & died in my M35

They're all still lit up like they're supposed to (with the exception of the backlit odo & gear selection indicator) - the gauges have all just stopped functioning.

I've checked the fuses & can't see anything blown. Anyone got another suggestion?

Battery healthy? Able to check by chucking another one in?

I remember someone had an issue with the dash- car does funny things with a failing battery.

Other things could be can bus ground wiring or something equally wierd.

Pretty common apparently - happened to me a few times - initially just disconnected and reconnected the battery and they went ok for a while and then did it again and now they are fine. You could try taking the cluster out and waving a heat gun over the back of the board or get a small soldering iron and touch any dodgy looking ( I think "dry" is the term but I'm no sparky) joints.

I might try removing it & brightening up the plug connectors on Saturday & see what happens.

I'm just concerned its a computer problem of some description that won't ne resolved without burning the car to the ground...

Its not a computer problem its just a bad connection.

Turned out it was a blown fuse in the kick panel which had shut the alternator down.

Anyone got an English diagram of that fuse panel btw?

Why did the fuse blow? Fuses don't blow for no reason. Now the fun begins!
