Looking to get my A/C running again in my R32 GTR but are having some issues and was hoping if people could point me in the right direction :)

I think my Compressor is on its way out as currently with the 10Amp fuse, the compressor won't engage when I turn on the A/C and the 10Amp fuse blows instantly. However if I run a larger fuse, say 15Amp or 20Amp, the compressor will run and the fuse doesn't blow, however I am not too keen on using this solution as I feel its sorta asking for trouble.

Do people generally just look to replacing their compressors in R32 GTRs or get them overhauled? is my problem common, if so how have people gone about resolving?

I have the same problem on my car. Gassed up, fans engage but compressor keeps blowing fuses (compressor shorting out internally?).

I have a spare compressor from my GTS-t wreck, still haven't put it in yet (no time, looks like a big effort to replace).

Disconnect plug at compressor and see if it still blows fuses.

Replacing the compressor isn't a 5 minute job

I've tried this and the fuse still blows :(

10Amp is the standard fuse, it's been awhile since ive tried, but I think the only fuse it wasn't blowing was the 20Amp and thats why I wasn't too keen to keep running it with the 20Amp fuse in there.

Could be the magnetic clutch solenoid insulation crapping out. Use a multimeter to check its resistance. The spec is 3.5 ohms If its much less than that it will pull too much current and blow the fuse.
