I've just got an R32 GTR, the headlights seem to do their own thing...

when you turn them on, sometimes one comes on (either one), then sometimes both come on?!? What is with that?

I assume that it is the switch - maybe dry solders?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Cheers

The switches in the 32's do not use a relay to switch the head lights, all the current go's through the switch :) , after checking everything else, you will find that replacing the switch will do the trick, seen it dozens of times. I have tried fixing these switches before due to the cost of them, but with no luck.

hope this helps

I fixed mine..

What happens is the switch heats up, the little plastic lug bits melt. In turn the contacts don't contact properly which makes the problem worse as it arcs hence more heat.

I soldered the two together. I can't remember exactly how as it was 2 years ago.

By doing this it will also cause the lowbeam to stay on while the hi-beam is on. Not sure if it creates a possible problem with overloading wiring or even the switch, mine has been fine for 2 years.
