Hey guys! Im assuming theres a thread about this somewhere! but anyways, I want to do a 5 stud conversion on my 31.. now I can score a close to free set of hubs and calipers off a R33 GTS-T series2... from what I have heard it is a possible conversion.. but im not sure about the rear? the R33 has hicas whereas the 31 doesnt!

Also, would anybody know if changing the hubs limit the possibility of me running S13 LCAs and steering knuckles?

Now on to the RB25DET! Ive got a RB25DET with 50'XXX KMS with the wiring loom and ecu.. the gearbox on my 31 atm is suitable for this engine as it came off a R33. But im not sure if I need different engine mounts and whether or not I can use the RB25's wiring loom and ecu or would I need an aftermarket setup?

Has anyone done any similar conversions? Id really like some insight as I dont have a clue on what to expect!:woot::woot:

If you want 5 stud + upgraded front brakes

You could do s13/s14 front suspension conversion, LCA/hub/knuckle/brakes etc. This allows you to run R32/R33/R34/S14/S15 calipers

For 5 stud, you could run some aftermarket alloy 5 stud hubs if you're using s13 gear, or s14 is already 5 stud.

For rear, you need to get your axles filled/redrilled 5 stud, then use R32/R33/R34/S14/S15 or redrill your standard rotors.

All of this info is over at R31 Club forum / wiki.

Lots of people have done RB25 conversions, you're best to go to R31 Club.

Also, keep in mind that assuming your car is an Aussie R31, then the rear end has nothing in common with import Skylines. The R32-34 have variations on the standard Nissan IRS design of the era, and the Aussie R31 is a solid rear axle. Nothing swaps.

To be honest, i was chatting to a nissan specialist, and he had 33 hubs on his s13... so i put the two and two together and assumed they would also fit on the 31 lol! but ive decided on something else now! :)
