Engine dies out

Just tried to start my stock standard r32 but came into some problems.

Firstly it needed a jump start. so after a jump start, the car starts but the engine dies off almost immediately.

however if i revv'd it, the car wont die until i let my foot off the accelerator.

anyone have any idea why its doin this??

i was playin with my air intake today, and discovered if the hose that comes off the back of the main intake pipe, above the tapet cover, firewall side, is blocked, the engine just dies without any throttle applied.

Now, i would surmise that this is the idle air feed, as the butterfly is completely closed when the throttle is right off, and with the car running at an idle, a hell of a lot of air is getting sucked into that hose.

I guess what im trying to say is see if the solenoid that this pipe goes into is buggered, maybe the pipe is blocked, or the throttle position sensor is faulty.

don't place too much faith in these diagnostics, they're just ideas of an amateur !

check all piping and intercooler hoses and throttle body intake hose and seals. then try air flow meter failing piping

checked the air filters arent clogged etc? sounds like it could be an issue with it not being able to breathe

Other possibility is you may have fried the computer when you jump started it.

It's always a good idea to use jumper leads with surge protectors.

its not the ecu coz it revs like normal only if i keep my foot on the acceleratr.

anywys the car is back to normal now... which is weird cos i didnt touch a thing? :confused:
