I bought a V36 Coupe from these guys about 4 months ago. The guys were ok to deal with but seemed a little light on detail which irked me somewhat.

In any event, I took a mate along whose a mechanic at Subaru and he checked the car inside and out and told me to buy it on the spot.

I took the car to Nissan for a service about 1 week after I purchased the car. They were pretty impressed with the car and only had good things to say about it (if that means anything at all).

Lastly, Jap Auto World also provide you with after market warranty with a group called WCCG. It's not easy to find details about WCCG but what I have read about this group hasn't been complimentary.

I'll post pics of my ride in the newbie forum soon enough. Hope this helps

I bought my 2004 Skyline Coupe from them 3 weeks ago.

Car itself is in immaculate condition, drives like a dream and the engine still sounds like new at 55000km. My mechanic was so impressed he offered to buy it from me, so I couldn't hope for more.

When I went to buy it they had a nice range of cars on offer, and of the ones I saw, ALL were in great condition.

I thought the guy there was pretty helpful. He sorted out a good trade-in on my old Falcon as well as finance for the rest.

Got a great deal on the car plus he threw in the warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance to sweeten the deal.

When I have enough money to upgrade I am coming back there, but thats just my 2 cents.

Just like to add my two bobs worth as these few posts were the only things I had to go on when purchasing a V35 with Jap Auto World. I live interstate and was to purchase the car interstate sight unseen, so I wanted to find out as much as possible about the dealer before I shelled out my savings, and info about them was hard to find. My initial impression regarding them was reserved (light on details and had to keep chasing them regarding things), but I can honestly say now that I would purchase from them again based on the excellent quality of the car.

As Jukes75 commented, they are very light on detail, but they catered to my 'many' whims (justified I think when purchasing a car sight unseen I think) and I now have an immaculate V35 sitting in the garage. The transport went without a hitch with PrixCar which they organised. I had an external inspection done on the car by MTA Pre Purchase Car inspections which Jap Auto World were only too happy to have done and in the end, the car has far exceeded all expectations that we had. Just keep on top of them to get things happening is all I can say.

- Happy V35 driver

Wow this is an old thread but for the purpose of other buyers out there, i purchased my V35 250GT Sedan, from Jap Auto World at campsie. and to cut a story short, the car is fantastic, i had MTA inspect it on site and the mechanic that came out was pretty impressed and mention that he would buy the car himself if i were to pass up on it, ive been getting it serviced by IS MOTOR RACING in Rockdale, they are fantastic and cheap to, they go out of the way to save you money. Back to Jap Auto World, the car i purchased seemd to have lost the smart key which allowed the car to operate the ignition without a key and keyless entry was also unavailable, the dealer installed an aftermarket one adn i was quite happy with this, later i found out i could order the original smart key from nissan, which i did and i am now enjoying keyless start, all in all great car, and the cost was right as well, my only regret is not getting the 350GT.

I went there to look at a 300gt sedan, and was un impressed with a car that was said to have around 50,000 km on the clock. The paint was fully fading, the tyres were getting bald and looked like they had been sitting out in the Australian sun for years. The salesman was not very helpful. . .

I bought my PV36 Sedan from them March last year and have had nothing but problems with it. I am unable to return it for servicing as I'm in Adelaide. Igor was very helpful, but the warranty is shit house and the transport company they use is useless (waited 3 weeks for my car from syd - adelaide, ended up canceling the transport, flying over and bring it back myself)

Since taking it to Nissan to have work done, they asked me if I had tampered with the digital KM's as the car showed wear closer to 100k, not the 35k on the clock when I bought it..

Also once the polish wore off, the paint on the doors is scratched to hell.

I'll soon be contacting them in regards to returning the car as it is now un drivable.

I now know to ask to see their auction/sales papers from japan to compare KM's before buying a fresh import, silly me.

All (nearly) import cars have the speedo wound back. Fact.

lol. who told you that? a used import car dealer?

a lot of well-intentioned posts in this thread - but so much blind leading the blind...

Jap Auto World refuse to post VINs with any of their sales ads online - why is that?

Thinking of buying from this dealer? Give the dealer a call and post up the VIN for the car in this forum.

There are guys who don't play with clocks and have de-reg papers from Japan but apparently they are considerably more expensive than those who do.

They are really great guys, and i think they have the best cars in Sydney. The service was great; we got the best value for money including 5 years warranty. They even found a spare set of keys and remote control for our car, and posted it to us a few weeks after we bought the car. We bought a Toyota Estima 2005 model 6 months ago, and it is the best car we've ever had. Ten times better than the Chrysler Grand Voyageur we had previously. I checked the license of JapAuto World on Fairtrading, and everything was OK. I did two months of research, visiting almost every car yard in Sydney. Most cars I checked definitely had more kilometers than advertised. Some car yards had really rusted cars, but we found the best car in JapAuto World. The car is in better-than-showroom condition, and I am a mechanic. It feels like no human has ever used the car. It was a pleasure doing business with JapAuto World, and we highly recommend them.

If this doesn't reek of dodgy, I don't know what does. Import straight from Japan with the assistance of a buying agency like Prestige Motorsport, as I did.

Dealerships are for new cars only, if they are to be trusted at all, not second hand and imports.

    • So.... when I'm finally getting around to having my power steering leak sorted, now it looks like I've got the same issue most A/T Skylines are having. My A/T light will randomly come on and I'm stuck in 3rd gear until I turn the car off and on again. Only 3 weeks ago I did a complete transmission service: Oil flush + new gasket + new filter. This came out of nowhere!! It wasn't like the car was driven hard. I drove about 3 mins down the road to get fuel and boom!!!  Anyway, I have a few questions and hope you fine people can help me out here. All questions are in red. 1. The solenoids: I was looking at the parts catalogue in Amayama and I could only find the Solenoids as an assembly. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/319404ax05 I read in another thread that Solenoid A = 31940-4AX02 & Solenoid B = 31940-4AX05 but the Amayama product has only the code of B. Is this the right part? Can anyone who has done the Solenoid changes or seen them confirm if this is the complete set of A & B?   2. Gasket and Filter: I'm not going to try change the solenoids myself because it seems difficult to do in a home garage with just 2 jack stands. I plan to take it to a shop and get it changed. I was also going to buy the transmission sump gasket at the same time so I don't reuse the same gasket. Should I just use the existing gasket as it has only been on the car since OCT 19th? (~3 weeks) Should I be buying a brand-new gasket and a filter? Does this job involve taking the filter out?   Thanks in advance to everyone. It's hard to find a video of someone doing a solenoid change on a R34 so any help you can give answering my remaining questions would make me less stressed.
    • Yea - From what I have seen from the video, the car idles like any R34 lol 50PSI of fuel pressure is hardly super abnormal, the regulator is working because the pressure remains static when the throttle gets revved, i.e pressure remains the same when manifold vaccuum changes. Bigger pumps on stock rails always bumped the pressure in the rail without using an aftermarket regulator to change that. Do you know what your IAC is actually doing? Has there been any data showing the stepper motor % etc? There's no way your idle is actually moving around the way the cluster(s) are indicating. You would hear the difference with the engine RPM flying to 3k and 1k in mere seconds. I'd be checking the wiring to the tacho. What the tacho is telling you and what the engine/ecu is telling you are different things. I assume your ECU doesn't display the spike. So whatever is telling the tacho to be at X rpm is doing something weird. When the going gets insane, you're on the wrong path. You've ruled out plenty of things that are working correctly/aren't the issue. Your idle isn't doing what the tacho is indicating. You have two seperate issues, I don't think they are linked, and the idle seems reasonably okay unless it's stalling which.. well, it hasn't. Troubleshoot the stall if it occurs by figuring out what your IAC is doing vs what it is being told to do.
    • So awesome! I love the RB with the exhaust on display.
    • NO HITS PRICE DROP   ENGINE - $8.5k ONO TRANSMISSION - $1.8k ONO
    • If it has had a code in the recent past, the code should still be there waiting to be read.
