A real carbon fibre bonnet is only worthwhile on the track, as Jay spends time at the track its worthwhile, for the rest, nismo.com bonnets are ample and less illegal (if that makes sense) than full CF bonnets.

I disagree. As I said I have one of the Nismo.com bonnets and I really think they are a liability on a street car. They are just too weak in all directions, even though mine has the extra lockdowns at the front I seriously doubt it would stay with the car in any kind of a bingle it would just rip off all it's attachment points.

The carbon/foam sandwich would be very much better in these respects and for the couple of hundred over the cheapie ....a very much better buy.

Still...you gotta admit...ours look good though :P

I think GT wings are also illegal.

It only takes one bad incident to bring it to the attention of the police.

A while back a GT wing came off a car in an accident and severely injured a bystander.

The police cracked down.

Then they went back to blow off valves and pods.

I think it'd take something like a carbon bonnet to shatter and hurt (stab?) someone and then the police will go on a rampage.

But until then they'll ignore you.

God knows I just can't get pulled over in my little defectmobile lately...

      I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility

      I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...

      Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
