Hi guys, I am pretty clueless when it comes to suspension - I have a R34 GTT with aftermarket coilovers, trailing arms and castor rods.

I have a yellow sticker and plan to return everything to stock.

I have a set of stock springs and shocks to replace coilovers, no problem.

On my yellow sticker notes it says it mentions "Trailing Arms" and "Castor Rods".

I need to find on ebay or whatever, the original part names for these, however they seem to be all called different things such as control arms, etc etc.

I'd appreciate it if someone could quickly confirm what part names I need to look for when searching for the stock Nissan parts, and if there are multiple parts per wheel, i.e. are there 2 control arms per wheel?

Thanks so so much.

Can i ask, was it a defect station or where you doing anything to attract attention to get pulled over?

Dark tint got the yellow sticker, pits then added 2 pages to that. Thanks for the link, he had sold the arms but I'll keep an eye out on these forums.

I noticed his post mentioned tie rods and camber arms - they are separate to control/trailing arms and castor rods, or perhaps they are all one unit? This is what I am most confused about.

Ok guys I've taken a couple of photos of the only non-stock items I could see on my suspension to help figure out what stock parts I need.

This pic is the rear suspension, I will assume that this is the camber arm or trailing arm?

The second pic is from the front suspension. I will assume this is the castor rod?

First one is your rear camber arm, and i think i actually have a set.......

Second one is your caster rod and i have a set but one isnt straight so they are usless to ya :P

Lol thanks man.

Do you know what I need to search for, for example on Ebay, to find the factory bits for these? Most searches for "R34 Factory camber arms" or "castor rods" only yield after-market parts, which means they may have different names for the factory version.

Also, I will buy your camber arms if they are stock.

I think i have some..... My shed is a warzone though lol...

Your best bet is too look for "R34 wrecking" as thats where you will have most luck!

Just FYI, there are no such things as "trailing arms" on a Skyline. That could be grounds for just getting them to cross that item off the list without needing to be shown that it has been specifically corrected.

That said, you won't get through an inspection with the adjustable arms on there, so you will have to get some stock front castor rods and some stock rear upper arms anyway.

There is at least one R334 being wrecked on here right now. In addition, you can buy both these arms brand new without adjustable sections and without ball joints on the ends. Hard Race and various other brands have what amounts to stock replacements with hardened rubber bushes in them, if you get desperate.

Yuh. Just make sure that you don't also have adjustable rear castor arms as well. These are also called traction rods and various other semi-nonsensical names. I can't tell from your photo what you have there. They are up at the same level (height) as the adjustable upper camber arms you have, but lead from the hub diagonally forward toward the chassis. If you have adjustable camber arms it is common/necessary to have adjustable castor arms (or at least some adjustable bushes in them) so you can get the wheel alignment right. So have a look and act accordingly.

    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps

    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
    • Nah, not really responsible for that little fiasco, but I'm still pissed at myself for writing off my 86, or when I reversed my VX into a pole just before selling it, but, meh, 5hit happens to stuff, all it takes is a slight distraction, and life is full of distractions, and "dooh" moments
