I’m considering buying a business, so regretfully, I need to sell my 180SX.

I bought it at the beginning of the year (so I’ve only owned it for around 10 months) off the original AU owner – he bought it in back in 2001 - so only two owners in AU! A few years ago, the previous owner had a complete engine rebuild done using only top quality parts and Jap brand goodies bolted on (Tomei; HKS; Apex’i; etc). Since I bought it, I’ve done a 32GTR front brake upgrade with full 5-stud conversion; suspension (Cusco; Whiteline; Ikeya Formula), and had it re-tuned. It has been looked after/serviced by Andrew at SX Developments, and serviced/tuned by Indy at IS Motor Racing. It has never been tracked, and is hardly driven! It is kept in a garage all the time, and is overall in pretty good condition for its age – it even has the original flare and original 180SX floor mats!

1993 ‘Red Top’. 155,000kms on chassis; 25,000kms on engine/mods.

Original OEM black in excellent condition (no fading, hardly any body blemishes at all).

Sunroof

Stock interior (dash/plastics in excellent condition; seat bolsters a bit worn).

NSW rego till July 2013.

All mods are under 25,000kms old with receipts for almost everything.

Rebuilt and forged engine:

- Venolia pistons; eagle forged rods; grant chrome rings.

- ARP head studs; ARP crank bolts.

- Tomei rocker arm stoppers.

- Tomei metal head gasket.

- HKS ‘step 1’ cams; HKS adjustable cam gears

- HKS GT-RS turbo (genuine) with HKS adjustable actuator on Kaminali s/s exhaust manifold.

- HKS 740cc injectors; HKS fuel pump.

- SplitFire ignition system.

- Trust/Greddy Type R bov.

- Trust larger sump (genuine)

- Z32 AFM

- Brand new Apex’i 80mm air filter (not fitted yet).

- Brand new oil catch can (not fitted yet).

- Nismo clutch and lightened flywheel.

- Blitz intercooler kit (painted black).

- Apex’i radiator cap.

- Brand new radiator overflow bottle (not fitted yet).

Full 3” stainless steel exhaust:

- HKS dump pipe

- 3” front pipe into 3” high-flow cat

- HKS Super Dragger cat-back exhaust with Magna-Flow twin-tip muffler fitted (original HKS Super Dragger muffler also available).

Brakes/ Wheels:

- Full S14 5-stud conversion.

- R32 GTR front brake upgrade with aftermarket rotors and Ferodo DS2500 pads.

- New rear pads.

- AVS Model 6 wheels - 17x8 +35 (225/45) front; 17x9 +35 (235/45) rear.

Suspension:

- Cusco Zero-2 coilovers (height/damper/camber adjustable) in excellent condition!

- Cusco front traction rods.

- Cusco rear camber arms.

- Ikeya Formula front tie rods with TuneAgent tie rod ends.

- Whiteline swaybars F&R.

- Rear polyurethane sub-frame ‘pineapples’.

Electronics:

- Apex’i Power FC and hand controller.

- Apex’i boost control module (controlled by the Power FC).

- HKS turbo timer.

- High-end alarm system with central locking/keyless entry.

Body:

- Original black in excellent condition.

- Genuine OEM 180SX Type X front bar with side extensions (and genuine lights/blinkers). Bar and extension pieces could do with a respray, but its not too bad.

- Veilside side skirts.

The car currently makes 225rwkw, however it’ll easily make around 250rwkw with more boost. The HKS actuator needs to be adjusted to a higher pre-load for it to hold higher boost to redline – once done, it’s an easy 250rwkw+.

As per above specs: $15,000, or $14,000 with stock suspension/arms.

Optional Extras:

- Cusco 5-piont bolt-in roll cage (add $400).

- Recaro SR3 front seats (pair; red) with genuine Recaro drivers side rail – not fitted (add $700).

- HKS oil cooler with filter relocation kit – not fitted (add $400).

- Apex’i twin-core radiator – not fitted (add $200).

I've had a few enquiries from interstate ppl on other forums - I'm more than happy to assist with freight/inspections etc for interstate buyers.

Daniel.

    • Appreciate the feedback. It is street car, but not a daily. Last week I got a quote from a good exhaust shop for a decat, one which is bolt-on, bolt-off to be easily replaceable. I got quoted for around €150. I usually do push the motor, but I wasn't in this case to make sure that no damage is done until I get the cat sorted. I think it's best to also ask the exhaust shop for the other option and see what they can do. If (big if) I were to decat though, would it be best to tune the car or would the stock ECU handle it? As far as I know, the stock ECU is not tunable and that would require additional purchases.
    • As above, definitely bash it or get it replaced with a high flow unit.
    • get some flares on them, or wider guards haha
    • Another question sorry, what stainless do u use in the turbo external WG plumb back piping? Is it 321, 316 or 304?
    • Right, its been a while for updating this car, but I made some small but important progress today. In the end I bought an Ecutek dongle from the Australian distributor Tunehouse (for local hardware support) but have gone with a remote tune from Racebox in the US (because they have done millions of these, and I could not find any tuner where I could access the tune anyway as they are all password locked). The App is reasonably easy to work with, but the PC software reminds me of Haltech's ECU Manager that you need to use with the Plat Pro ECUs, it is a nightmare.  Anyway, I sent the details over, got back a tune file and a request for data logs. I finally got a chance to access a private test track today as they want redline logs in 3rd and 4th, and have sent them back for the first round of reviews. The main difference in the tune is going from 1.0 (stock) to 1.3 bar (19psi), although I'm sure is a lot of other stuff in the background. Keeping in mind this is a dead stock car with 125,000klm, this is what the App's performance test claimed: Before After Interesting to note that both 400m tests had the same terminal speed (158klm/h) but different ETs. And no, the speed limiter seems to be higher than that at 186kl/h. Summary of the key logged parameters for the 3rd and 4th gear runs were: Those little turbos were certainly whizzing at 200,000rpm+.  Also I'm really not that excited about oil pressure 55psi at redline so I think I'll go thicker than 5w30 (nissan recommend 0w20....) and see if that improves it. Other than that (and the big boost spike....) everything looks good as a start to me.
