Ok I am 17 just starting to learn about skylines an all so sorry for any "nooby" questions.

I own a stock standard 1994 R33 Skyline Coupe GT and im looking to uprgrade my front brakes seeing they have no compression and are warped. (very f**ked to drive) I ordered new slotted rotors and pads (without calipers) for my car and when they arrived the rotors are an inch in diameter larger then the ones already on it, they sent us 5 stud pattern first which we had to return $120 freight later -__-. we now have 4 stud rotors that are still too big. their explanation was i had R31 braking system on my car. i rang BrakeMart, they suggested someone couldve changed the braking system, and that the braking system on my car isnt the right brakes that i need to upgrade the current system to a 4 piston caliper to be able to fit my 4 stud slotted rotars and pads. WTF??!! I just want my brakes repaired and able to stop me safely and this has just turned into a mass frustration.

so my question is, is there anyone that knows how i can fix this epic dilema so i can uprgade my braking system???

(front brakes only, not even attempting rear at this point)

everything on the internet are saying i should have, VeDi on my front and Di-S on my back, does anyone know what these are or mean??

What you need to do is go and measure the diameter of the discs. Measure the thickness too, even though they are probably worn below original thickness, it will still help us to work out what their original thickness probably was. You can measure the height of the hat too (that's the distance from the wheel mounting surface back to the surface of the disc itself). Grab the master cylinder model number too.

Post up these numbers. Photos of the disc and caliper also. Then we can work out if you have original R33 NA discs or if someone has swapped something else on there. I will point out though that it is very unlikely that someone has swapped some other crappy non-turbo brakes onto it. The only sensible brake upgrade for an NA Skyline is to grab the equivalent turbo brakes and slap them on.

OK so what size are the rotors?

Also:

1 - it's quite rare to have warped rotors. A far more common reason for seemingly warped rotors is uneven pad deposits on the rotor.

2 - What do you mean by "no compression" on the brakes? Have you bled the system (start at the rear and work your way forward - follow a guide on the internet), is there sufficient fluid, is the fluid leaking from either the master cylinder, vacuum assist or calipers?

I wouldn't be surprised that an Australian company had no idea what brake sizes go on what models of Skyline. The catalogues are often incorrect for rarer models such as the NA R33.

That link says your brakes should be 280mm x 28mm (only slightly different to R31 which have 274 x 22mm).

DBA says they are the same as the GTST and 296mm - which I doubt.

im not sure that warped rotors are that uncommon, i always seem to get them in my cars, stock brakes are a bit shit,

the op has a rb20e doesnt he? so maybe he has some rb20 sized brakes, he could get the rotors machined on the car quite cheaply..

id think twice before spending money on that car mate, like others have mentioned, it is far easier to sell yours and buy the real thing than replace all the parts of the car :yes:
