Hi all.

I have 2 cats living at my house (they aren't mine, previous renter)

In the meanwhile before the cats are moved, no idea when that is. I need solutions to keeping them off my bonnet as they have caused some pretty nasty scratches that are not coming off.

Due to my car being constantly waxed they seem to enjoy ice skating on the paint because of how.....slow i drive, the car bonnet is pretty toasty.

Please help!! Any ideas of mutilation, destruction, spontaneous combustion, poisoning, killing or any form of hurt to the cat is greatly appreciated. No judgement here for the most stupid pet in the world.

Thanks :)

Kind regards...cat hater

Put the bonnet up at night?

Alternatively - if you want to make them never want to get on the car again - take positive lead off battery - connect to jumper lead - connect other end of jumper lead to bonnet on one side - get next jumper lead and connect to bonnet on other side - connect other end of this lead to positive battery post. You know have an electrified bonnet.

Cat jumps on bonnet. Nek minute. Cat gets blasted sky high.

Bonnet up works; my cat started using my bonnet as a bed, left it up at night for a few weeks, cat found somewhere else warm to sleep.

Started leaving bonnet down; cat still sleeps in his new spot.

Daleo - are you pulling a grammar nazi on me?! :-p

Blanket is probably the best idea - bonnet up, now that I think of it, might result in 'cat going through clutch fan'......if you forget to check engine bay before dropping bonnet in morning.

Risk of bonnet being up?

Cat finding a nice spot in the engine bay

Don't laugh it happened with one of my cats, thought it was a good idea to fall asleep in the engine bay of my dad's courier van.

but +1 for blanket a nice thick one, then whilst they sleeping, roll it up and throw it off a cliff.

bahahahha same problem man same problem with my old car . worst thing is these lil f**kers shat in the gap between and wind screen where ur wipers sits my car smells 4 weeks since its got in to air intake . since then i got my lil cousin bb gun shot those f**kers when ever i see them on my car at night . But there is a trick my neighbors use was fill up ur water bottle half way and place them where u dont want them to be so i say try that trick and put like

2 -3 of them on ur bonnet and see if work ! good luck

These ideas are amazing!! thankyou all..

I'd get a car cover, but i dont really want to spend any money at all.

Blankets don't work as they slip off as my paint is like glass.

If the cat is in my engine bay, it can stay in there....just hop it doesn't try and poop its way out.

I just want the cats gone!!! booooo

Could get fancy, set up a proximity sensor (like on a sensor light) to switch on a high pressure cleaner or water pump with a misting nozzle pointed at your car.

Cats are smart, you only have to tell them a couple of times and they work it out.

I'm with Tony350. Shoot the cats. I despise cats. They deserve to die. I won't tell you what I did to my friend's cat when he decided to sit on my Maxima once. Had it not been for the Clifford alarm's perimeter sensor, I wouldn't have known. Luckily no scratches but the cat walked with a limp for a while.
