2Nd To 3Rd Gear "chirp"/"groan" Sound

I'm getting a sound - like a low chirp/groan sound - when I change up (auto/manual) from 2nd to 3rd gear.

Recently changed my trans oil to Willall Lite when I noticed it. Did not have it with OEM trans oil.

Happens usually when cold, but happened today when it was hot too. So far, it's happened 3 to 4times in total.

Is this a bad sign? Has anyone had this problem? Does it need to be corrected?

Thanks guys!

Most all GTR transmissions may exhibit clutch chirp at some time in their lives. Its well documented, fairly common, and not harmful in any way. This can normally be dialled out by altering clutch capacity and touch points if need be. Its simply a friction property of the clutches.

If you dont like it, then back off the CC settings till it goes away.

Many threads on it with stock fluid, aftermarket fluid etc. in the US.

I was on cc=2 and tp = 0 before.

I've just dialled down cc to 1.

Will see what happens. Having had the Willall etune recently with more power, I was hesitant to do that as I don't want any clutch slip.

Hope cc=1 is enough clutch pressure. Whadya reckon, Martin?
