2Hr Go Kart Endurance Race - Ace Karts

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd let you know of a go-karting team endurance race happening next week - would be great to see some racers from car clubs get involved!

Race Details:

Date - November 14th, 2012

Qualifying - 7.30pm

Race - 8pm

Entry Fee - $250 per team

Each team will consist of 2 or more drivers.

Pit lane will be closed in the first 20 minutes and last 20 minutes.

Each driver can only drive for a maximum of 40 minutes continuous.

There is no maximum for how many stints each driver does but every team member must drive once.

There will be a compulsory 3 minute pit-stop between 30 and 90 minutes for kart chain maintenance.

Team Entry:

Team entry will be on a first-come first-served basis.

Entries are open until 4pm Friday November 9th.

I know this has been posted on a few other car forums - would be great to see a couple of teams show others that Skyline drivers are the best drivers ;)

(p.s. I don't work for Ace Karts...just a wannabe Webber who loves a bit of racing!)

      We have 2x Swifts and my plans for a Swift, unfortunately, do not extend to an intake and an exhaust. I've been having dirty thoughts about a 2.5L Suzi V6, AWD gearbag out of a suitable donor, rear floorpan graft to take the rear cradle from same, and either trumpets of evil or a small supercharger. If I'm going to make noise in a Swift, I want it to be anti-social, evil handling and rough. Probably need to be fully stripped inside, matt black paint, plastic windows, 7" wide wheels, big brakes, silly suspension, etc etc etc. I have no idea if any of the proposed driveline components could take the pain. But it would be a hoot finding out.

      Really, anyone modifying a car isn't being financially smart. We're doing it for the things we love. And honestly, a high revving, light, NA car is actually pretty darn fun. I used to have a Swift Sport, and I miss that thing as a daily, and yes, doing something like some intake and exhaust stuff would have made minimal gains, but would have bought an even bigger smile
