Hi I am new in here and here is my story -

I hv a GTR 32 in Hong Kong which produced in Oct 91'.

I did ring some import garages and they that said it is not possible to import a GTR 32 which produced between Jun 91 to May 92 to Aussie.

This car rated at grade 4 when i bought it from Japan few years before.

Anyone knows if some way to personal import this car ?

Thanks for your help !

HI Alex, welcome! If you have just moved to Australia and you're here on a 'permanent' visa (as in not here as a student, or on a working holiday or tourist visa), you should be able to bring it in as a personal import.

Due to the emmission control in HK , GTR 32 can't pass that standard unless the car produced over 20 years and treat it as a classic car , then, the emmission inpsection could waived in HK. That is the reason why the car only registered less than one year even i bought it on 2009.

Just successfully brought in a Porsche but it was an '88 so got it in on the pre 89 'Classic Car' concession. Unfortunately this wont be available to you but give the DOT a call they are actually surprisingly helpful.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
