Are you playing on PS3 or Xbox?

AN94 + quickdraw + launcher or fast mag is just all kinds of win in TDM.

Here's a cool story bro: one day I suddenly lost a heap of skill. As in, I started sucking at multiplayer. Thought I was going f**king crazy because, for no apparent reason, I couldn't aim for shit and people were getting the drop on me all the time. I even posted some 4-17 scores lol. Over the next 3-4 months I slowly got better and better until I returned to respectable scores (>1:1 KDR etc.). One day I'm looking at the multiplayer options screen and I see target assist is switched off - I think to myself "surely not?". I turn it back on...nek minut...consistent 3:1 and 4:1 KDRs. What a f**king joke! This game practically plays itself for you and I bet most players don't even notice.

Its true.

I think its more an option for e-sport or clan warz where people turn off all assists to make a fair playing field.

I remember the days where I actually enjoyed playing it, but it was just an urge to kill and win and get better. By the time I got half-decent I was like 'f**k this shit, why do i keep playing this'. Had it on PS3 and was meh, PC was a lot more fun and consistant players

on ps3 ;)

and wtf you cheat :P

If it were up to me no one would use target assist. I don't need it to play, but to level the playing field against those who do.

After years of playing FPS with a mouse, I can safely say that controller is much more difficult and I can see why they put in target assist to make the limited movement of a thumb stick a bit more accurate. I often find myself saying "if I had a mouse I would have fked you up", but playing at a PC does bad things to me (read: shut away CS player for 6-7 years).

I find it fascinating how target assist actually works. From what I read it slows down sensitivity of the thumb stick as you approach proximity of an enemy, thereby less likely to pass over them. It will also pull you slightly towards an enemy once you have locked onto them.

i agree with that....nothing beats using a mouse and this can be done on a ps3/xbox etc but whats the point? targetting is massive hard with a controller compared to a PC due to the nature of the peripheral at hand

ive noticed in zombies that this does this too but only when you aim down site. no matter where you point (within proximity) of an object it aims straight at the head... but you then have to hold it there or move with with the object

very interesting indeed the way they do it

The one thing that shots me about the aim assist is if I'm about to shoot a guy in the distance who's shooting at me and another dude runs past, the aim will automatically turn towards the running dude, whilst the distance guy kills me especially when it's a buzz kill against me.

I play with no perks and attachments. It's brings a challenge but still gives wins.

A sensitivity option should probably be had for the aim assist. That being said, I probably won't play it on the next gen anyway.

Does anyone else find themselves sitting in the Lobby for 5 minutes while 1 player leaves then another comes in then another leaves etc etc. Every time the game timer resets and they re-arrange the teams and start the countdown again. It's just plain annoying. I understand the concept behind it, but surely they can change it so if one leaves, nothing happens, if another leaves from the same team, somone from the other team is shifted over.

I've sat literally for 5 minutes with this happening, gets really annoying. That particular time I was on the laptop at the same time otherwise I would have tried another lobby.

Have to have a look at the new maps. Didn't think they were out till next week

Yeah I tend to repeatedly tap aim along with shoot when taking on a horde of zombies with a machine gun. This just constantly swaps between their heads / follows them for you.

lol yes this has happened to me a few times since turning it on. Probably the biggest pain in the ass is how it affects grenade launcher attachments. I came to depend on this attachment when my aim "turned to shit", and you can become quite masterful at estimating the trajectory and drop after a bit of practice with it. I was returning 2:1 and 3:1 KDRs using that attachment alone, unless people had flak jackets (kryptonite). PROBLEM IS, the ideal spot to place a grenade is not right at the enemy, contrary to what target assist believes! So you'll aim where the enemy is going to be and that sucker pulls you towards them or has you fire at a wall when they duck for cover

However, it is fun popping someone in the face with an unexploded grenade for an impact kill, ala a shotgun slug!

A right pain in the ass! When this happens I just leave the lobby and it tends to link me up with another one nearly straight away. IMO the whole lobby finding interface is f**ked, at least on consoles (not sure what game finding is like on PC). It's condescending as hell - what's wrong with giving us filters and a list of lobbies ala computer FPS of yesteryear? We're smart enough to work this shit out ourselves. And why does it often put players with similar clan tags on opposite teams? A mate will come on and join the lobby I'm in, then get relegated to the opposite team lol

On Xbox you also get:

-many connection errors with host; will randomly quit you out of the game instead of migrating everyone to another host

-migrating host just as a game finishes because someone rage quits

-takes forever to migrate host when host is laggy as fark

Studio in new DLC :)

Strange to be running around there again, but lots of fun

Alcatraz zombies is pretty good to. They have added quite a bit in this one

yeah im loving alcatraz. big map but alot of fun and heaps of eggs....getting to the bridge is fun!!

oh oh and getting death machine from mystery box is win

I was hopeless first time round lol. The other guys knew what they were doing and built the plane. I had a part but no idea where to take it and ended up going down trying to find it

They managed to get the plane together and one of them jumped on before the rest of us had a chance and we were stuck behind lol

hey all,

Slightly off topic BUT i notice a new COD will be out soon.

Im late on this whole online games :P just hooking the net up to the xbox and live pass end of this week.

Is it worth me buying COD II or waiting for the new one to come out?

Like will people leave the old one in droves or will it still have a decent following?

Dont want to buy a copy of COD then have to buy the new one in a few months.

It's your call really. Ghosts has a release date of Nov 5th so If you can get black ops 2 for cheap then there's no harm. I wouldn't pay top dollar for it now though.

Usually the previous cod will still have plenty of players, however you'll also tend to get more hackers since they're not as regulated as the new ones.

    • The engine stuff is Greg Autism to the Max. I contacted Tony Mamo previously from AFR who went off to make his own company to further refine AFR heads. He is a wizard in US LS world. Pretty much the best person on earth who will sell you things he's done weird wizard magic to. The cam spec is not too different. I have a 232/234 .600/603 lift, 114LSA cam currently. The new one is 227/233 .638 .634. The 1.8 ratio roller rockers will effectively push this cam into the ~.670 range. These also get Mamo'ified to be drilled out and tapped to use a 10mm bolt over an 8mm for better stability. This is what lead to the cam being specced. The plan is to run it to 6800. (6600 currently). The Johnson lifters are to maintain proper lift at heavy use which is something the LS7's supposedly fail at and lose a bit of pressure, robbing you of lift at higher RPM. Hollow stem valves for better, well everything, Valve train control. I dunno. Hollow is better. The valves are also not on a standard valve angle. Compression ratio is going from 10.6 to 11.3. The cam is smaller, but also not really... The cam was specced when I generated a chart where I counted the frames of a lap video I had and noted how much of the time in % I spent at what RPM while on track at Sandown. The current cam/heads are a bit mismatched, the standard LS1 heads are the restriction to power, which is why everyone CNC's them to get a pretty solid improvement. Most of the difference between LS1->LS2->LS3 is really just better stock heads. The current cam is falling over about 600rpm earlier than it 'should' given the rest of my current setup. CNC'ing heads closes the gap with regards to heads. Aftermarket heads eliminate the gap and go further. The MMS heads go even further than that, and the heads I have in the box could quite easily be bolted to a 7.0 427ci or 454 and not be any restriction at all. Tony Mamo previously worked with AFR, designed new heads from scratch then eventually founded his own business. There he takes the AFR items and performs further wizardry, CNC'ing them and then manually porting the result. He also ports the FAST102 composite manifold: Before and after There's also an improved racing crank scraper and windage tray. Helps to keep oil in the pan. Supposedly gains 2% power. Tony also ports Melling oil pumps, so you get more oil pressure down low at idle, and the same as what you want up top thanks to a suitable relief spring. There's also the timing chain kit with a Torrington bearing to make sure the cam doesn't have any thrust. Yes I'll post a before and after when it all eventually goes together. It'll probably make 2kw more than a setup that would be $15,000 cheaper :p
    • Because the cars wheels are on blocks, you slide under the car.   Pretty much all the bolts you touched should have been put in, but not fully torque up.   Back them off a turn or two, and then tighten them up from under the car with the wheels sitting on the blocks holding car up in the air.
    • Yes. Imagine you have the car on the ground, and you mine away all the ground under and around it, except for the area directly under each individual wheel. That's exactly how it'd look, except the ground will be what ever you make the bit under each wheel from
    • Yes, if you set the "height" right so that it's basically where it would be when sitting on the wheel. It's actually exactly how I tighten bolts that need to be done that way. However....urethane bushes do NOT need to be done that way. The bush slides on both the inner and outer. It's only rubber bushes that are bonded to the outer that need to be clamped to the crush tube in the "home" position. And my car is so full of sphericals now that I have very few that I need to do properly and I sometimes forget and have to go back and fix it afterwards!
