Just wondering the steps involved as well as the things needed (sandpaper grit, filler, etc) when prepping a fibreglass front bar.

It is yet to be painted with a a couple of small dents.

If this has already been covered, please refer me to the other threads.

Thanks :D

Laminate it kevlar to stop breakage , spiderwebbing and scuffing on the ground damage

Then prep normal after test fit , kevlar doesnt sand out so beware

Costs about a hundred to do it right

Test fit the bar first to see if any trimming is needed.fill any imperfections . usually sandpaper grit depends on how good or bad the bar is. i would usually start with low grades around 120 when sanding filler , work your way up slowly with a block . wet and dry sand up to 600 - 800

Another good thing is to mist over some black paint on the surface (color depending), allow to dry for few mins .use your block to sand and you will definitly find any imperfections or holes you have missed . i do it all the time when i spray things these days . Follow those steps and your good to add primer , do the mist coat after primer when you sand , helps to know where you've hit , weather your spraying it yourself.
