two_nissans
Hi Guys, I've recently put a R33 RB25DE in my R32 GTS25. All went really smoothly, got it started and sounds amazing at idle. Problem is driving it. Severely lacks power under throttle and runs "spluttery" i guess is the best way to describe it. I've gone through and replaced AFM, coils, fuel pump and filter. No luck. Also checked O2 sensor, TPS and APP. Everything appears to be wired in correctly, no signs of any vacuum leaks, no sunburn fuel coming out exhaust. I am literally clueless as to what the problem might be! Very frustrating!! Please any suggestions or help would be much appreciated :-D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/413720-rb25de-conversion-problems/ Share on other sites
Dobz
Need more description on the problem. At what rpm does it start to lose power? At what rpm does it start to splutter? Does the amount of throttle you use affect it? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/413720-rb25de-conversion-problems/#findComment-6625700 Share on other sites
two_nissans
The amount of splutter is proportional to throttle position not rpm. So basically idles fine and as soon as you apply throttle it starts spluttering and misfiring. The more throttle, the worse it gets until it just dies. No real power at any point under throttle. Dobz
Have you checked the spark plugs for any signs of it being rich or lean? It sounds like it could be leaning out more than anything. two_nissans
Spark and fuel flow all ok. Not running rich either :-/ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/413720-rb25de-conversion-problems/#findComment-6626123 Share on other sites
Dobz
Though you might have good fuel flow it's up to the injectors and what controls them to determine the amount of fuel in to the engine. We really need to know what the electrode and the porcelain on the plug look like? If the porcelain is on the black side then it's too rich and if the porcelain is pure white then it's running lean. Do this: Start your car let it idle to operating temp. Then lean on the throttle so it splutters but doesn't stall for thirty seconds. Switch the car off and let the car cool down so you can check the plugs.
