Water/methanol Injection. Your Thoughts Please.

Been looking into water methanol injection lately, from what I have read (and understand.. mostly) it allows more boost and ignition timing to be run. My question is this; why arent more people doing it? There doesnt seem to be a down side appart from having to fill up the water tank whenever you re-fuel.

Has anyone done this to their car before? What kind of gains did you get once it was all tuned up?

Id be interested to learn more.

There is a really good thread already about it with more than 20 links coming from it showing a shit tonne of information. I spent 30-40 hours getting through it all plus a few other threads I dug up and understanding as there is a few misconceptions.

The downside is if there is a failure of any sort the damage can be very significant.

If your engine isn't knock limited then there are minor if any gains.

Can take a while to get through it but its worth the read!
