Interesting Read On Additives In E85 Causing Injector Blockage

Recommended Posts

ID range of injectors are tried and tested, not sure if available for 35 (almost certainly think they would be)

as for people testing their own fuels, i've noticed those test kits always seem to read much higher than those of us with ethanol sensors... not exactly sure why this is. Most people doing test kit stuff are reading mid 90's, but those with sensors are showing United to be very close to the mark for 85% (i've only seen 82-85% variance, never more than 85% - i've noticed though that NSW peeps have had some higher and lower readings).

I also found Caltex to be bang on E70 all the time i was using it before United was up and running. Word is that they're going to their summer blend end of Nov (but also other rumours they've scrapped this) - i might run a tank or two early Dec to check - be nice to have more more true E85 options :) Although as Sam said, Melbourne is actually pretty spoilt for choice comparatively
