Hey,

Just a quick question regarding replacing my fugged dash cluster (tacho needle died) with a working one from another car. Car/cluster in question is a S2 R33 GTS-t.

Do I need to "callibrate" the cluster (in particular the fuel level) when I replace the old cluster with the new? Hard to explain but say I had a full tank of fuel and then replaced the cluster with the new one, which might have been taken out of a car with only half a tank of fuel. Will the cluster re-adjust itself or do I ened to "reset" the fuel level gauge?

Cheers.

The fuel level works off resistance. The level sensor in the tank gives a different resistance depending on where the fuel level is

So no, you don't need to calibrate it. The fuel gauge just reads a voltage from the fuel sensor, so for example at empty the voltage that reaches the gauge is 1V and when the tank is full the voltage to the gauge is 4v
