Hiya.Anyone want to add their 2 cents/5 dollars worth:APEXi's Power FC-who has had one tuned, either to their satifaction or not?I'm hearing most are paying for around 5 hours dyno time, plus the cost of the unit, plus installing. It'll be going into an R32 GTR,if that makes any difference.I'm positive that it's worth it,but I'd like to hear more from you all. Also, how's $1600 for both the FC and the hand contoller sound?Seems pretty good to me at the mo'...

P.S. We all need more track time,methinks....

About 5 hours is right I think. $1600 is OK, check out the for sale section they seem to be available for less.

We need a dyno in Jerra!

$1600 is a reasonable price for the power fc and hc, you could possibly pick it up cheaper if you waited and searched around, but youd only save a few hundred $$ so depends if you want it now or not I guess.

As for tuning, had bad experiances with Evo. They just added a hell of alot of timing, and didnt do much else, and pushed the car to its absolute limits, which isnt meant to be done (a good tuner will tune it to 90% potential to compensate for varying weather conditions, different fuels etc). I was impressed by the tuners knowledge, and I have been told hed like to spend more time tuning the cars, but the management push him to just do a quick job, get a dyno figure the customer will be happy with, and thats it.

Jakes Performance in Mitchell is meant to be good, but I have never used or talked to him, so cant comment.

Ed from Tez Automotive in Mawson has a friend that can do road tunes (in my opinion its worthwhile getting a dyno tune, then a road tune, as you will be driving the car on the road not on a dyno :( ) and I have used him and cant reccomend him enough. He hooked up all these little fancy gadgets to his laptop and to the engine, and after taking it for a run, came back and I sat down with him, and he explained and showed me on the laptop how the car was running, what it was doing where, and how it could be improved. He gets my big thumbs up. I have also heard these guys will be involved with a new company starting soon thats installing a 4WD dyno dynamics dyno, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for that one :(

Thats all I can comment on in ACT, in Sydney, id reccomend Hills Motorsports. They tuned my car before I picked it up from Sydney and did an *awesome* job. He charges around $600 for a full tune from the base map, but as said he did a brilliant job with my car.

Theres also Croydon Auto Sports in Sydney who are an Apexi Power Excel dealer and have the Apexi laptop software (not the fc logit) and have heard nothing but good stories from people who have had their car tuned there. They are a bit more expensive, but their reputation speaks for themself (look at GTR700 and the other myriad of high performance GTR's that have come out of their workshop).

Hope some of this helps :P

Definately go to Croydon.............

Ring them first and have a chat to them, they will tell you what to do.

They may say put a set of cam gears on before the pfc etc.

They charge about $2,650.00 for a pfc, tuning and cam gear adjustment.

In my opinion I would rate Jim at Croydon the best tuner for GTR's in Australia.

i have second hand pfc & hand control off r32 gtr for sale @ $1000

i have second  hand pfc & hand control off r32 gtr for sale @ $1000

Thanks for the offer, but I will head for a new one!It might just be me wasting money, but there's a good feeling I get with new stufff!

I had my car tuned by this guy in Queenbeyan who ownes Rice Racing. He did a great job and can tune the car as hard or soft as you like. I my opion a road tune is better than a dyno tune due to variable load and things like that (just a personal opion).

You wont have to fork out sh*t cans of money for dyno time either. I had my car tuned on a dyno by Dr_Drift in melbourne and got 200rwkw. Then Peter from Rice Racing road tuned it and the car feels faster with LESS KNOCK!!!!

His name is Peter Giljevic, PM me or send me an email at [email protected] if you want his phone number etc...

    • Hey lads, reviving an old thread.  As an update, since the last time replied to this thread, ive done mostly suspension. Havent touched the motor except for maintenance. Though upon changing spark plugs, found out i had splitfires pre-installed! Updates: - Got me some stock airbox top cover and snorkel to fit onto the original intake. Should be free of defects - Bought a set of R34 GT-T brakes (not installed yet, going to rebuild + respray in champion blue + white 'Nissan' text) - Bought the last set of bilsteins from @Sydneykid and had them installed. Has been making some sounds on the rear but hopefully should be sorted out after this New Year break. - Regreased front caster rod bushings (poly bushes..) - Rear upper camber arms - Whiteline sway bars (BNF27Z 22mm + BNR11XXZ 24mm).  The rear sway bars are a bit short (ive read 50mm else where) but was still able to get them in.  Anyhows, I reckon suspension is sorted now. Maybe replace bushes (do have a set of front upper control arms from SK not installed yet) but should be okay for now. From now, I'm wanting to start working on the motor, drivetrain etc etc. Still debating on the order to go on and what to buy etc but: - ECU ( Haltech or Link ( Link states that it dont support A/T or AWD functions... Can anyone attest to this? ) - Highflow turbo ( ATR43ss2 ) - Intercooler ( Not decided yet, but cant find many good afoordable ones. Toshi says to opt for crossflow Japanese. Bit difficult this one, unless I get a returnflow Blitz from JJ? ) - Injectors ( Any recommendations ? I do have a nismo FPR ( Thanks SK ) ) - Seats - Tune by either Toshi or DVS To be fair, I did consider just keeping the stock turbo and nistuning it. Sat in a mates stock N, that had something like 200kw, and I reckon that felt more than enough. Maybe I should just go this route ahhaha. Too many choices.... Planning a trip down south, so wanting to just clean things up and make sure it gets to and from in one piece. Anything else specifically I should do before ? Cheers lads
    • Must be for the car’s lucky charm 🤷🏽‍♂️ She runs fine, but it just seems to take about 1L less. Maybe I’ll have the oil sump dropped at some point to check if there is anything
    • Hmmm interesting. Mine is the exact same and clearly the right one.  The mystery of the engine oil being full after 3.5-4L continues
    • Yes I as well would like to find out where I could get some of the seat material with the red or blue small squares in it
