Hi everyone

I have searched but cannot find any information regarding common drivetrain and suspension components of the r33 gts4 with other cars.

Specifically I want to know if the following parts can be interchanged with other models:

  • Inner ball joint
  • Lower control arm
  • Castor rods
  • Driveshafts
  • Power steering rack

All for the front left hand side.

The reason I ask is because I cannot find second hand spares specifically for a r33 gts-4, and I don't want to pay the exorbedent prices for new genuine parts.

Does anyone have these parts for sale ?

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Ben

Hey mate, good to see another 33 gts4 owner.

Search my posts/threads as ive started quite a few about the GTS4 and the forever ongoing headaches of what parts we can use.

So hard to find solid info on them, though one of the boys on here works for Nissan and helped me out matching part numbers ect ect. il locate the name for you if you don't come across him first.

From my experience all the parts you need you could take of a 33 GTS/gtst - Essentially that's what car they are, though using a GTR drive-line and ATTESSA Awd.

Suspension wise you - i used a set of GTST coil-overs. Fit no dramas - Lots of people will tell you about the eye and fork mounts and you need front GTR and rear GTST. but that's not the case. ( i think the 32 GTS4 uses GTR all round/mix)

For a hub conversion though, You will need GTR Front hubs. By the sounds you are still using the 4 stud? if so im confident is saying you will be able to use GTST/GTS parts from a 33

I think i still have a set of lower control arms you can take. Were you located?

Hi Sydking

Hahaha yea mate not too many going around I have noticed.

Thank you very much for that info. Much appreciated.

I am located in Brisbane. How much do you want for the lower control arms. I actually only want the front left but If you don't want to separate I am happy to buy both :)

If you pm me your bank details I am happy to do a transfer.

Yea I am still running 4 stud. And yes looking to upgrade. DarkRyda made a FAQ for 4 - 5 stud conversion. Are these the parts you used ? He seems to think you can use all gtst parts. Is this correct ?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/400017-faq-r33-gts-non-turbo-4-5-stud-conversion/

Obviously for the front driveshaft you can't use gts/gtst, because they don't have one. Can you use the gtr driveshafts ?

And coilovers are all sorted :) I recently bought a set of Bilsteins off Sydney kid which I need to fit.

Thanks mate

Ben

Hmm I 100% used R33 GTR front hub assembly, With no issues. and GTSt for the rears.

That was off the advice of another couple members who had done the same conversion.

i think it was confirmed that the gts4 driveshaft is a few mm thinner then the GTR. My hasent broken so haven't had to look into it as yet.

Il try dig out the parts tonight, You can have them for nothing - Just pay the postage. Though could be more worth while sourcing local parts.

actually yea maybe that faq was only for gts's that are 2 wheel drive... That would make sense then that you can use gtst 5 stud hubs and knuckes in the front...

Yea I have tried sourcing locally but to no avail at the moment.

That is very helpful of you, it would be much appreciated... PM me your bank details and how much you want for the parts..

Kind regards

Ben

Take the parts for free mate, PM me you address and il get a quote on postage, If you happy to pay then il post them off.

(Fingers crossed there still in the garage, If not they will be in my car at the workshop, hoping to have it back next week or so)

  • 1 month later...

Feel free to PM me any questions about R33 GTS4.

I did everything from 5 stud conversion, stagea engine swap, gtr body the works.

Its a pain trying to work out what you need off a GTR and what you need off GTSTs.

For 5 stud conversion you can use GTST calipers but will need GTR front hub/knuckle as its AWD.

The GTR & GTS4 both run 3 x 2 bolt flanges of driveshafts from diffs. As a GTST has 5 x 1 bolt flange pattern.

You can use aftermarket GTST castor rods.

Steering rack im unsure but would assume they are the same as my new engine bolted up with current one no issues.

Oh this sounds nice, i have a gts4 too

I was sure you needed Gtr fronts and gts rear, are you sure its gts all around? :O

That would be very nice if its gtst :D

100% mate, I used GTSt coilovers each corner and they fit just how they should

Thanks alot mate :D Very nice to know :)

I got a set of GTS(T) coils for my GTS-T, new in box, but now I'm going to put them on the GTS-4T instead ;D (Also preparing for a Stagea RB25 swap, hence the "4T" part :D Anything special I need to think about?)

Hmm as for the engine conversion, Id say theres a lot to think about. Although I went for an Rb26 in mine, It will also depend on how much power your looking for.

Here is a little list of my parts

  • R32 GTR Turbo Manifolds
  • R34 GTR Dump Pipes
  • N1 Adjustable Actuators
  • Z23 AFM X2
  • R34 GTR Airbox ( didnet fit, So had to get pods) R33 GTR airbox also wont fit.
  • Bosh 040 Fuel pump
  • Nismo front pipe
  • PFC or your prefered ECU
  • R33 GTR Font hub Assembly’s
  • Front R32 GTR callipers and rotors
  • Rear 33 GTST hub assembly’s With Std Rotors and Callipers-
  • Cusco Zero 2R Coilovers

-HEL Braided Brake lines

-ID 1000cc Injectors

-Spitfire Coilpacks

-Silicone Hose kit

-Brake pads

-Turbos

-Oil cooler

- Clutch

Plus lots and lots of little things that need to be replaced along the way.

Kind of why a RB25 would have been the go, But trying to get my hands on a AWD NEO rb25 was near impossible and the asking price for most was $5k +

Don’t forget about the Front mount and pipe work that goes with it……

Now my worry is, Pushing 300+ KW through a drive train that no one can comfirm is as strong as the GTR or just std GTS gear.

Time will tell.

Ah yes i got a RB25 DET from a stagea with the AWD, afaik thats the only AWD RB25DET out there, but the engine is / has gotten a complete overhaul and a new ECU etc, i just thought if there was like something special that was good to know :P But i guess since i already had a RB25DE+T in the car when i bought it (bought it with a blown engine) it should just fit right in ;) I could give a complete list of my plans on it but i guess it would be a bit offtopic :(

My goal is aprox 350 whp :) But the bottom end is built for 5-600 whp (dont want to redo it later on so i did it proper :P)

I bought the Stagea RB25DET (AWD) from England for like 1400 AUD incl shipping to Sweden :) VERY good price imo :D Like 2 years ago

But its not easy to find info and/or other people with experience from these GTS4, most people seem to think the 4 is for 4 door? :P
