Daniel is looking at making a full crank girdle incorporating the 4wd adaptor plate.  This is a step up necessary in strength for over 1,000 bhp from the RB30 standard crank and block.  The last time I priced one it was over $3K.  So if Daniel can have it designed and made for a competitive price (like he has for the 4wd adaptor) it is a big step.

Thanks SK! That explains it!

So from what you are saying I can get one of his plates to suite an RB30 and graft the lot onto the top of the RB20 AWD Sump on my R32 GTS4?

I am assuming the sump is the same as a R32 GTR?

Hi greg,

Maybe before trying to make me look a rip off or liar in a public forum you could have asked me through PM as I am not trying to fool anyone or make money from people. I am just trying to help out enthusiasts that have a DIY attitude same as myself, but no matter I am not at all embarrased as said this thread is well over a year old.

I had never worked on an RB series engines before 2004, I had worked all types of v8's,fj20's and L series but never built a Hi performance RB built from scratch. Also in this time I have been working closely with a few of the most respected mechanics and mechanical engineers in this country and also had heavy dealings with JUN and Veilside in Japan, and have CAD designed some one off stuff for my own engine that will now go into production in the USA. I have toured the Nizpro shop and had there system of adapting the sump explained to me first hand, this was after I came up with my own design; so I wasnt recycling ideas...

Nizpro make a crank girdle which believe it or not has nothing to do with adapting the block to the sump, it is a seperate girdel that is cnc'd from billet steel to add strength to the mains of the rb30 (you can use the girdle for rwd's also). They still use a spacer plate in 10mm steel to adapt the wider 4wd sump to the narrower rb30 block. My design is the later, I was going to do a crank girdle for myself also but the chance of not getting it right is just to high it would work out cheaper to by the Nizpro item.

Currently I am building 3 engines, the whole engines and using the adapter, these engines are all for 700hp+ gtr's; I have sent two plates to sydney with one running in a gts4, I have also done another 3 for gts4's and a gtr in canberra. Now i have no way of testing what i have made, how can I, its a flat piece of 10mm steel what can go wrong??? I am selling basically a fancy washer and i only make $50 out of each plate for all my time and design work, so how can I afford to test everything???? At the end of the day I am looking after people who can afford a bit of there own time but can't afford a premade package like what RIPS or Nizpro sell, and with some of the PM's i get I can really see why these guys wont sell the plate seperate and will only do the whole job.

Hope this clears a few things up, and I hope others can see I am not trying to trick anyone only trying to help.

hi greg,

the rb20 gts4 sump is exactly the same sump as a rb26 sump, the only difference is the diff ratio but that plays no part in how the spacer plate works, sorry if i sounded narkie in the last post i didnt mean to be its just things sound different when you re-read them once on the screen. PM me if you have any questions, as you seem like a genuine bloke i can supply you a few photos of my plate so you can better visualize what has to be done and how everything works....

OK Daniel, I obviously was confused and probably should have kept my mouth shut but then I would not have learned all this good stuff about your dedication to the cause.

I certainly was not intending to make you look anything other than someone who was confusing me with the discussion where I had not twigged exactly what you were on about.

SO please accept my public apology if required.

no your right mate not required at all, your right you were just confused as all of us some times. Like i said you are one of the few genuine people I have delt with, the amount of people i have given pics to and exact specs to in the beginning and chased after them with interstate phone calls to try and look after them only to have them say my "cuz/bro can do it way cheaper".... Yeah sure no worries. It has tarnished my opinions of how to deal with people via the internet... Sorry greg you dont owe me nothing champ, I am glad we can clear everything up though.

Cheers,

Daniel.

On my GTR which was significantly lower than a standard GTR the angle of the driveshaft from the gearbox (sometimes refered to as the front tailshaft) changed .75 of a degree and as far as i can tell and can see wont effect anything. As for the driveshafts coming from the diff to the wheels, On a standard height or slightly lowered GTR (actually all GTR's) it works in the same theory as lowering the car 10mm ie. it doesnt effect it at all!!! On the gts4 that has been told I am led to blelieve no work was done to any of the systems such as the driveshafts and it drives perfect....
