Q: (Patricia Sanchez - Motorpasion F1) Mark, already we ask you what are going to miss now you're leaving, is there something you're happy to leave behind, maybe us journalists?

MW: .... You strike up good friendships with a lot of people, not just the drivers but other people. Obviously there's some shit magazines that have to do shit journalism and that's normal but in the end, you've got to deal with those as well but in general it's a good professional tennis match and that's how we always like to play it.

MW, will miss him calling it how it is in 2014. Seriously hope he does some guest commentary from time to time

Looks like they might've getting ready to push Bernie sideways, as he's come out saying Horner would be the best candidate to replace him and he'd walk him through the transition and he wouldn't work with someone from the outside corporate world.

if bernie gets a guilty verdict in his corruption case CVC have said he will be ''relieved'' of his duties.

however horner has said today he's not ready to turn his back on red bull yet.

Pastor Maldonado is in advanced talks with Sauber about a 2014 Formula 1 deal, as he weighs up rival offers from Force India and Lotus.

"I really hope to have confirmation quite soon, but I don't have any hurry," he said. "We are working on it. It could be hours, days or even more. I hope to get 100 per cent on the negotiations and let's see.

"Sometimes when you are negotiating, it takes some time. It has taken some time but it is quite clear that I will be in F1, it is quite clear where, and everything. We will see."

Although Lotus is currently the fastest of the teams that Maldonado is talking to, he reckons that both Sauber and Force India have equally good potential for 2014.

"Lotus is a good option, but even Sauber is a good option, even Force India is a good option," he said. "They have shown that they are very competitive.

"Force India has been more competitive than McLaren this year at the beginning. I think all of them have good potential for the future. We all know very well who has available seats and we will see."

When asked if the financial situation at Lotus would be a factor in his decision, he said: "It could be yes. When you evaluate a team, you evaluate everything, the background, sponsor situation, everything, not only the car."

i hate this guy and the people who back him.

Yeah I'm not real sure why all the teams are so interested in Maldonado (supposedly)

I mean fair enough he won in spain last year, but since then has gone downhill. Its Pretty obvious he is not a top priority to sign in terms of skill when Bottas is starting to get the better of him, in a car that will have been designed mainly for Pastor. Bottas I think has much more potential. I'm even kind of happy to see Massa goes to Williams

If Maldonado didnt have the sponsership money behind him (there were rumors of PDVSA or whatever that company is were pulling there sponsership), why wouldnt you have People like Hulk, Kovelinen (sp) and lets not forget about Kobayashi. Sure he binned the car every now and then but at least he was competetive while doing it.

I really hope he doesnt go to Lotus anyway, I'm happy to still support them next year, but if he goes there I might have to take that back.....

Sergio Perez would still be with McLaren had a rival team boss not gone back on his word to sign Kevin Magnussen for next season.

"I hoped and tried to find him [Magnussen] a cockpit," Whitmarsh revealed to the official F1 website.

"I even did a deal and shook hands with a team principal up and down this paddock - an absolute deal - but he stepped back...

"Even after 25 years I find that difficult to deal with - I know I shouldn't, but I am still hopelessly naive.

"I still think that if you look somebody in the eye and shake hands then that's a done deal.

"When it turns out like in the Magnussen case, then I am shocked - and I tell myself 'learn, don't be naive'.

"So having to face this situation, I decided let's go for it with Kevin ourselves."

Whatever grand stand you sit it, dont sit on an acces row (e.g. front row)

We sat there on World Champions grand stand this year thinking it would be awesome. There is more leg room.... BUT you have to move your legs every 6 seconds when people want to get on and off. And you get lots of sun or lots of rain on you (if the grandstand has a roof of some sort)

I'd say mid-backish of the grandstandis the go. I will find out next year anyway

Better for photos too. All mine were through the fence and you can see that in most of them:
