hey anyone stay for the tarmac rally cars? 2 off R34 GTRs and I think snowys R35. lucky bastards doin laps of albert park!

umm Renault megane trophy was pretty sweet to.

Yep was me. Was such an epic experience.

Also massively put into perspective the times the F1's do and even things like their braking points (or at times complete lack of!). In the end I think my best time was around 2.15 so we still aren't anywhere near their times in the wet!

Well have to take the good from the bad and it seems that Albert Park was pretty hard on cars so going to focus on the fact I was fortunate to not have made it as it may have broken the car more than it already is

About to head in...going to be a lottery dip. Funny, when Webber was in a nowhere car I loved wet races as it gave him a chance. Now he is in a car that is in the hunt I hate wet lottery races :(

supposed to be 17 and sunny by 17:00

wind's coming in from SW-ish and the cloud is currently breaking up fairly rapidly. matter of fact, looking down past St Kilda beach i see huge chunks of blue sky

I know you fellas watching at home prolly want some precipitation, but us sat here in the stands don't...

    • Thanks mate 👍 The car was brought into the UK by a USAF mechanic until he was stationed back to the US, one owner later I bought her back in 2009. Luckily the only corrosion was on the sill seams, so once taken back to metal and treated and sealed all ok, I then undersealed the car myself and check yearly and treat any corrosion which to be honest is zero. She's garaged most of the time and hardly ever driven in the rain, but as you say most are rotten unfortunately, I was lucky in finding her as she was and still is in excellent condition.
    • Stunning car.  Looks amazing!  You're in the UK?  How the hell do you stop your car rotting away beneath you?  British cars are the WORST I've ever seen in regards to rust.  Some of the cars SR Autobody have done are borderbeyond saving.
    • not a date code? or a foundry code?
    • I have up to date pics of the engine build and turbo conversion over on my instagram @skpro_jects if you want to take a deeper look.   Basically the exhaust manifold is straight bolt on and the ports match (they arent any smaller than a 25 or 26 head).    the intake ports are different shape so the 20/25det manifold will bolt up but wont match properly or seal. You will need to port match using the 25det gasket as a stencil. Personally i ran the entire stock 20neo intake setup and have configured the swirl valves and torque valve to work based on my custom parameters to help with off boost response and spool. But this is using a standalone aem v2 ecu. The stock 20det ecu wont be able to control them.
    • Hi. a little later but if the topic is here. So...the exhaust is the same and you can use 25/Turbo or any aftermarket? What about intake side? Is it too "plug n play" or? (i do not remember for 100% but i think that one intake to head gasket was little bit different than on the RB25 - i bought gasket kit way back) I know that even if it "plug" those butterfly swirls would cause ECU to be confused or?   Just asking for the info 🙂 and of course the RB25 things are easier to come by
