I chatted to a nice French girl working for MSS security while I was waiting for nothing to happen.

This guy, he knows how its done... lol

Yeah we stayed till about 5 then called it a day. Was pretty sick of freezing my ass off in shorts and a shirt. Poncho actually warmed me up a bit

Good weekend all round but

did you collect some digits?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah and I have a suit made from her skin......creepy much? :woot:

Nah, she had an aussie BF and one of my opening lines was talking about my other half and my daughter so I have terrible form if I was trying to pick her up. We mostly talked about life, cheese, wine and how fricking freezing it was.

x2

knew it was getting cancelled

if you had a sunday only ticket, you were absolutely laughing

quali was pure misery, sitting there in shorts and a t-shirt and a plastic rain poncho as I was

gave up and went back to the hotel as soon as they announced the second rain delay

then BAM!

... arctic cold

fooled you chumps

Sums up my quali and Saturday........ oh and my friends.

Has anyone else looked at the grandstands in subsequent races and thought..... Gee, that would have been nice.

I think it's time for melb to lift its game and get a roof for the stands. With the ticket prices, I think we deserve some protection from the sun/rain.

Our stand (world champions stand) had a roof, unfortunatly we were on the edge near the gap and also at the front near.... well the end of the roof so it did nothing for us, both when it was sunny and raining. Morning was O.K but afternoon sun was killer

Know better for next year, one of the back rows will be good for cover and photos as well, can take some over the fence instead of trying to take them through it :)

Lotus have revealed that Nick Chester will take over as technical director following James Allison's departure.

"We are pleased to announce Nick Chester as our next technical director," Boullier said. "Nick is well known to everyone at Enstone having been with the team for over twelve years. He is already directly involved with this and next year's cars, ensuring a smooth transition which has been underway for some time.

"It's an illustration of the strength and breadth of talent at Enstone that we can draw on personnel of the calibre of Nick and it's something of an Enstone tradition for new technical directors to be promoted from within. He assumes his new position at a tremendously exciting time for the sport.

"The 2014 technical regulation changes present many challenges, while our current position of second place in both the constructors' and drivers' world championships mean we cannot lose sight of this year's development battle. Nick really has his work cut out, but we know he is more than capable of handling the tasks ahead. As a team and individually, we would all like to thank James Allison for his efforts during his three stints at Enstone and wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

Chester added: "I have worked at Enstone for over twelve years and am delighted to take on the role of Technical Director. I am grateful to the management at Enstone for the faith they have in promoting me to this position. I am very aware of our need to keep pushing development of this year's E21 whilst developing next year's car to a set of very different regulations. There are some exciting times ahead for Enstone and I'm honoured to be part of it."

Niki Lauda has ruled out Mercedes trying to sign Sebastian Vettel as they already have the "best" driver pairing.

"Forget it," he told Austrian newspaper, Osterreich. "We are not trying to get Vettel, as he has signed a contract with Red Bull until forever.

"With Hamilton and Nico Rosberg we already have the best driver pairing. The two push each other forward positively. Our driver change has motivated the whole team who are all inspired."

"There is Jenson Button has revealed the McLaren MP4-28 will look very different when the upgraded car hits the track during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix.

a lot that is different, you will be able to see [the changes to] the aerodynamics of the car and you will understand the difference in airflow of the car," said Button.

"It is still the same colour, but the edges have changed.

"There are some really cool-looking little bits on the car but I don't think it is going to be enough to fight right at the front.

"We will see an improvement and hopefully that will help us understand the airflow of the car a little bit better."

in my experience, very few races have stands have roofs, unless its over the main staright

and if they do indeed have these roofs, positioning isnt ideal... like the final turn in this weekends spainish gp for example
