Vinyl or rubber boot?

Vinyl is attached to the plastic. Lift the rear edge to pop the plastic up

Rubber boot has a metal ring with 4 screws holding it down

Need to screw off the knob to get them both off the shaft

If you're talking about the rubber boot that's cable tied to the shifter and sits around the gearbox to stop gear oil flicking out, that's a real SOB to get off.

It's manageable. I've don't it a few times but with minor tears.

If it's what I'm thinking and same on the 180sx shifter, slip a cloth between the boot and the shifter when you invert the boot to try take it off. With the cloth, it'll allow the boot to slip/slide off easier.

Cheers,

Andy
