Haha all good, if you're keen, I can get the Walbro 525 with plug and can do 2x for $435 (excluding postage 😆) or $450 shipped.

Better quote without postage to keep @Ben C34 happy lol.

Did the modifications I needed to do today to make the PRP brace fit the block/sump.

Ended up having to grind a substantial amount off the inside of the sump to make it fit.

I already had reliefs in the block sump rail for my original block/sump adapter but still had to modify them a bit to fit the PRP spacers for the section over the front diff.

Measured up the oil pickup and tigged it up. PRP have done a brilliant job of designing that part of it. They make it very easy to fabricate to pickup tube.

The block is loaded up in the ute ready to drop off to the machinist to get the girdle machined down to the correct height for the brace.

Also removed the original accelerator pedal and cable and fit a 350Z DBW pedal.  It does bolt in but I redrilled the holes to move the pedal further to the right to space it out better.

The GT-R pedal pad fits straight on but the angles are all out of whack. I did a bit of "manipulation" to make it line up pretty good. Needs a bit more tweaking but will do the trick for now.

You'll be happy going to dbw, I'm planning on cutting my pedal to get it to sit nicer and trim the stopper on the back side.

How long until it's back together and running?

I hope so, I've spent the dollars so hopefully it works out! I'm just looking forward to simple idle control and how clean it will be on the cold side now.  Particularly once I tidy up all of the overly busy coolant hose side of things.

In regards to when it's running I refuse to set time frames any more, I just fu(# them up anyway so best to avoid committingto anything!

I'd love to think it'll be back together before Christmas (this year!) but we'll see what happens....  Many Christmas' have passed since I bought it so what's a few more!

Hey guys, has anyone got any experience with Radium stuff?  I was all gungho and ready to get the Frenchy's fuel tank lid/pump setup but then tripped over the Radium one.  The attraction is that they have an optional in tank surge pump option.  It looks like a really nice setup.  It would only be a small capacity but should have a very consistent amount of fuel in it with it's own lift pump, fuel return and venturi setup all feeding into it.

This is the link-  http://www.radiumauto.com/Fuel-Pump-Hanger-and-FHST-Late-Nissan-P1971.aspx.  Scroll down to see the surge tank option.

Frenchy's

Nissan 200SX/S14/S15 R33/R34 Single and Twin Pump In-Tank Fuel System Kit **New**!

I guess the question is "Do I really need it?"  I'm unlikely to track the car a heap but I will a bit so is there value in the Radium setup?  It looks like it would cost much the same money as the Frenchy's setup.  I would prefer to support and Aussie company but there are obvious benefits of the Radium setup.

Anyone have any thoughts, first hand experience or opinions on this?  All are welcome but none are gospel!

The radium stuff is good but I’d go Frenchies,

I had a radium surge tank, no issues other then I had to replace the loom plug as the clip that retained it broke, but I believe the new ones use a metal fastener now.
but the Frenchies stuff would be much better for what most of us would use the cars for.

Cheers for the response.  Yeah I'll probably stick with the Frenchy's but do like the modular setup of the Radium where you can add on bits and pieces.  If I stick with the Frenchy's and I do ever track it I'll just need to make sure I have a full tank of fuel.  I'll be too scared to go again after a lap so won't use much fuel!

Block and gridle should be back from the machinist later in the week so hopefully I can get cracking on reassembling the engine over the next few weekends.

That bad boy should heat things up a bit!  At $450 I couldn't refuse. I've got a pot belly but by the time to fire it up and the heat eventually radiates through the metal you're an hour in and over shivering!  This thing it was comfy in 10 minutes and jumper off in 20!

Bought a little offcut (2400×1200) of aluminium to practice welding on....

Chopped up a few (heap) of coupons to get started with. Just need to tidy them up then get tiggin.

Having a few issues getting my girdle machined down to suit the PRP brace. I think I'm in the too hard basket at the machinists. Like everyone at the moment they're flat stick and prioritising the low hanging fruit.  I'm lofty fruit at the top of the tree me thinks....

Ah well, been busy motorbike riding plus building bunks for the kids in the caravan so not short on jobs to do...  The motivation dissipation is the biggest worry.

The Radium tank hat is amazing quality and price. Fitted one to a 33 GTR and it was stupidly easy.

Yeah they do look good.  I think I'll support Aussie made though and go with the Frenchy's setup.  I'll most likely decide at the last minute when I actually go to buy it!  I have a tendency of changing my mind at the last minute!

Cheers.

Fair enough mate, where from and how much was the 350Z pedal? About to convert my S15 to DBW and would love a bolt in solution

I have a spare 350Z pedal, PM if you want brah...

I ended up sourcing a G35 one because it's rubber, not alloy like the 350Z

$70 posted from a guy on Facebook. Very much a bolt in thing with only minor mods required.

    • She's looking good Greg. Colour suits it perfectly 👍
    • I had a look at the FAB9 EFR kit, around $8500 AU before delivery, so add in shipping, installation, consumables and tuning, I believe the price difference would be negligible  And whilst I am paying top dollar at MX5 Mania, if I have any issues with the kit they are local for support,  and from my experience, will happily go out of their way to help, hell, I've purchased parts from them and asked "how do I install or remove parts" and they have fitted a few of them for free, this means more to me than saving a few thousand dollars And yes, 99% of the time I just plod around in the car, that may change once I start hearing turbo whooshy noises, but, as I have 3 family members is the constabulary, even when I'm up it, it is only up to the speed limit, or occasionally, but rarely, overtaking on the Hwy (I just plod in the left lane typically and enjoy the drive) Plus the kids would never let it go if I got booked speeding, Jackie is constantly getting critiqued by the kids about her driving, which I think is hilarious, and tell them that she is "bringing shame to our family", so heaven forbid if I ever got done speeding, after all my mouthing off about her driving, I would never live it down, and it would be another thing she would bring up any chance she got Like the time I got drunk about 15 years ago and fell out of a cab, which gets brought up at least a few times every year since it happened Good times
    • True, might get it looked at. Found out you can in fact flatten the 12v battery relatively easily too the other day (kids lefts the hazards on) so meaning to get that checked in the new year. What's odd is it'll blow cold from both vents if you have the ac down as low as poss (18), but anything else the passenger one blows warmish. Also has been summer since I got it obvs but noticed it didn't seem to want to blow hot last night when we had a cold snap.
