Anfanee
Cutting a hole and mounting does require an engin cert. Cops have tried to defect my GTR that came stock with FMIC... It really does suck. The cops in ACT currently have a hate where you "can't have an FMIC and a BOV" it's one or the other. I mean seriously what the hell? i mean im ALL for safety in cars. But some times its a bit silly me thinks. In saying that goodluck with getting it all sorted! MBS206
Intercooler + a hole cut in the inner guard is perfectly legal WITHOUT an engineers certificate. You lot need to learn your standards of what is owner certifiable and be able to politely inform the police of such items and you will avoid defects. If they're booking you for owner certifiable, they don't know their shit.If that does upset them that you've informed them it's owner certifiable and they do go to town on you for things that you actually have modified illegally, then that's your problem for actually having illegal mods. Frosty
NCOP is the way to go on this...know what the standards and modified rules are escpecially when it comes to height and all that...The NCOP states a certain way that is needs to be measured so make sure they do this and you will find 9 times out of 10 you are in the right Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/414882-defects/#findComment-6689268 Share on other sites
Shazbanger
List of things that do NOT require certification: This list was generated from a Q&A held at Eastern Creek by the RTA, at a Motoring Enthusiasts Conference on 26/02/2012. See full PDF below. Source: https://sites.google...th-stakeholders PDF from RTA: http://www.rta.nsw.g...rn-creek-qa.pdf Sorry, didn't copy and paste how I thought it would, so the list is the first link above. Proper legal stuff. Its like the PDS/FSG of cars. Boring as batshit, but covers their ass completely. http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/viewtop/inforce/subordleg+522+2007+cd+0+N/?dq=Regulations%20under%20Road%20Transport%20(Vehicle%20Registration Edited January 3, 2013 by XS80ST Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/414882-defects/#findComment-6689313 Share on other sites

If this is the case, there is no listing there about a pod or fmic. It does say if you fit a turbo charger which increases power output by 20% of the original stated, but it leaves out alot of obvious things. It doesn't say anything about engine management, I always thought this was a big point.
