so i need to do the clutch in my RS4s very soon as its constantly reminding me that its about to shit itself completely. laziness and a full shed dictates that it'll get done on a weekend at work which means i wont be able to have the flywheel machined on the spot.

so, i have a flywheel from an RS260 sitting there somewhere, are they the same as an RS4s? my guess is yes but can anyone confirm it? would save me a lot of f**king around if they are because i can have it machined during the week and then just swap them over.

on the clutch side of things, has anyone found a stock replacement clutch for under $700? thats the lowest i can get through work for a clutch industries unit. all i want is a standard replacement jobbie, dont need anything better.

that dirty 30 is actually in the process of being dropped into an autech that made it's way into my shed.... hence only wanting a stocker for this one.

does anyone have a website for NPC? i'd love to spend as little as possible! and are people going for a GT-T or 33 GTR? would either be cheaper?

Darrin, when you say all RBs are the same, does this include a 30? because i should have a few of those laying around somewhere.... which would be awesome.

They are the same as in bolt up and the face where the clutch plate runs etc

I think some (maybe rb30) have a bit more metal/thicker in the centre for strength. But I am only going off what Jim Berry told me.

I wrecked 2 JB clutches. The 3rd one is a NPC with a new billet flywheel made by them...was approx $1150 from memory.

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
