Hey Guys, I've been looking around on Carsguide and Carsales. I'm looking at buying an Nissan Skyline R33 1996-1997 GTS (Non turbo). Can you guys tell me a good price that you would but a car of this model at if you were satisfied with the car?

My budget at it's max is $9,000.

P.S: Got any tips for talking cars down?

P.S 1: How many Hp(KW) does a stock r33 gts have?

Sorry if it's in the wrong section.

Thanks.

-Jackson.

See if the buyer is willing to let a mechanic go over it for you before buying it.

So I'll call the seller up (who ever it is) and just me like "Hey mate, I'm looking to buy your car rar rar rar... Can we take it to a mechanic to get it all looked over so I know theres nothing wrong with it. (If they say no, theres obviously something wrong with it right?

Not exactly, he might not think that it's worth the trouble or has his own reason. It's very obvious if the seller is pushy though. I had one ask me if I was coming with cash and buying tonight after the first text, I said no and when I got there to take a quick look, I figured out why. I asked to jack it up and do a thorough inspection the next day, he said it was sold lol

Mechanic will be able to see fishy stuff that you wouldnt be able to see, like i bought my R34 25GT and my mechanic told me this car has been crashed in the front thats

after i bought it, he was able to tell even though the repair job was done really well and there is nothing wrong with the car.

Dont buy with your heart and get all caught up in the moment you need someone telling you the facts that your going to miss. These imports are

getting old and there past is sketchy so might as well.

Ive loved my r33 skyline(as you can tellfrom my "I love you." thread lol) but Ive heard non turbo r33's are gutless as there is no boost to offset the heavy weight.

Standard non turbo gst's do 140kw at the fly( around 98kw at the wheels I think?) pretty dismal...

why so much for a non turbo skyline?

as above make sure a mech checks out everything before you drop the cash on any car , let alone an import
