Can someone please suggest what to do? I have an R33 GTST 94' Auto. Only mods are a pod and a turbosmart boost tee. I turned up the boost to 10psi and I believe I’m hitting R&R (car has a flat spot between 4,000 - 5,500 RPM) can some suggest a way I can prevent this from happening without spending big $$$ on new ecu's and tuning for now. Take into account it is an auto so I’m limited to what computers I can use.

Thanks

when i put my foot flat down it goes then feels like the car is resticted then after 5500 RPM it pulls again thats whats happening. I Change the plugs last friday. when its on 7psi it doesnt do it. anything past 7psi it dose. whitch is why i thought it was hitting R&R.

what plugs did you put in?

I had iridiums when I bougth the car, same deal.. when I upped the boost it would hestitate and sound liek a machine gun.. dropped in $4 plugs and problem fixed

I used BCPR6ES

That's because in the midrange you are are peak torque and hence peak cylinder pressures and therefore the hardest to ignite mixture condition. As the revs get up past that, cylinder fill starts to decrease and it gets easier to ignite again.

So what do i have to do in order to stop this?? thats my question :)

what plugs are you running?

what are the plugs gapped at?

what coil packs are you running?

just normal NGK Plugs gapped at 0.5 and standard coil packs (whitch appear to be in good condition) im not getting any miss fires.

normal NGK? which ones man.. there are heaps of normal NGKs

no point gapping them at 0.5 on such little boost

I would never gap any plug at 0.5mm. To have to do so indicates that the ignition system sucks balls and needs to be fixed/upgraded.

Does depend how much boost you're running.. I found running 0.8mm at 1.4 on splitfires it would sometimes miss (on my old R33).. I dropped it to 0.6mm and it was all good.. however the spark would be shit.
