How to install aftermarket springs??? (R33gtst) :D

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out I’m keen on some aftermarket springs for my r33 gtst they are second hand and seem to be the right height that I want and stiffness. I would like to know if anyone has installed springs by themselves @ home before how would I go about installing them (that if its a wise option) I’m keen to get them in myself but I’m wondering if anyone has done it before and could be a legend and post up how to do it?? I’d rather not take my car to a shop to get it worked on but if it’s not worth installing them yourself then I will...

i am looking at lowering my 32 next weekend. Just need to know what is the best way to get the nut off at the top of the strut tower, in terms of gripping the shaft on the shockie to undo the nut? was thinking vice grips....

you really need some spring clamps so you can clamp the spring before undoing the nuts. Otherwise the strut will end up in your neighbours pool with a clump of your skin stuck to it. Its not that hard a job.

its not that hard a job, but just time consuming and you need the right tools, otherwize you Will kill yourself.

A set of spring clamps is a must. To do mine I used a jack, wheel brace, spring clamps, 10, 14, 19mm spanners, a shifter and a spare 3 hrs. Definately get a wheel algnment afterwards.
