Thanks mate  If the weather holds up I'll get to try out the Nittos tommorrow.

Yes, very true. Stock and modified GT-Rs are very different beasts to tame, naturally stock being the easier of the two.

Emre- they're very impressive times there, 124mph!!!! I guess if I get my 60' times in the low 1.73, I might gain a tenth of a second or two.....

Calder was fantastic last night, had a total of about 7 runs, not that many cars, and perfect weather.....

Penfold- yes bolt straight up, providing u get the kit which suits the rb26.... From what I've heard they are an awesome turbo, very responsive and make good power.....

Anyone here wanna share their experiences with these turbos?? *looks at vspecv*

A good friend of mine is running a single AX53B60 on a Pulsar GTi-R - this thing is a rocket! Lag? What lag!? Full boost by 3000rpm! He also confirmed they are about the same as the HKS 2530 - perhaps a touch better.

Just wondering who you have had good tuning experiences with in WA as I may be looking for someone soon.

The best in the west certainly does not use dynapack and his dyno dynamics dyno is extremely accurate - if anyone can reduce a chart I will attach my latest chart (not the one below)
i have only fitted them to 1 car a customer running a motec, but they were awesome. better than 2530s, peak power pretty much the same, just more responsive.

Hmm.. that's very interesting: less lag is always good :P Anyone got actual figures, or better yet, a comparison between the two?

LW.

hi got the t78 which spooled up round 1bar on 5500, what type of power figures are the t517zs you have rated at in total as a pair 600hp 650hp 700? and at what boost? might be worth swapping to keep it all undercover thats all.

:cooldance

Hi Emre,

Its not that I want more power (not yet!!), I was just stating that how the JMS drag car can get 381 rwkws on 1.3 bar boost?!?!?!?

they usually run a mixture of toulene, acetone and avgas, you could say its rocket fuel... it makes ALOT of difference to the output of the car, much more boost and timing can be fed into the engine without detonation coming on, and thats how they make there power

they do it with most of there dyno runs, marketing i would assume, as not many people know what fuel they run and all they see is there power figure

they made 293rwkw on an sr20det silvia with a single T517Z, fuel ratio was as below:

avgas:toulene:acetone -----> 6:3:2

The T517Z's are rated at 600 hp, got my engine rebuilt last month and got dynoed a 335rwkws at 21psi...... full boost by 5000rpm

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
