Hi Guys

So thinking of putting 225 40 18 tyres where there were 235 40 18 on previously.

Would this fill the guard less or would it stretch on the rim and fill the guard about the same(really like how my current tyres fill the guard atm)

Wanted to know as the 225's are so much cheaper in the same brand..

Thanks for any help

Cheers

Depends on the make of tyre...I have some 255s here that are narrower than 235s in another brand...all in all it shouldn't make too much difference but what types are they...235.40s are usually what's recommended for skylines and are usually cheap too cause its a very popular size

this is what ive been hearing but St.George tyres have ku31's 235 for $159.99 and 225's for $130 - they will do my alignment for me for free as well (not going to tempe because i dont trust them with balacing and alignment)

so..for $40..stick with 235 in kumho ku31's?

    • Plenty of people have been doing exactly that in Australia for many years. All it takes is to only fill up at servos with E85. And that is not that difficult. I drive past several such every day. The main pain is the consumption rate and having to fill up more often and stash more jerry cans in the shed.
    • Wowzers....  You've got some explaining to do young man....  How T.F did we go from some swiss cheese panels on the ground to a fully finished car attending car shows?  Don't you realise that car building porn is what we're here for?  I DEMAND more photos an information on the process.  Please.........? 🙏
    • I would never run E85 without an ethanol content sensor. Just not worth the headache. Having to reflash the tune and only refill the tank when it's very nearly empty is super annoying.
    • It’s time to take her out more on weekends!!  First thing is a wash. I’ve got my citizenship ceremony this weekend and I’m going to roll up in her 😂😝 Next up will be getting the mechanic to look at my fuel sender O ring around mid-March. I’m saving up for a different front bar so that would be after that. But she’s running happy, so I can sleep easy and slow down. Not chasing power for now.    yeah, I’d like to take her down to some meets. but when you’re not on social media anymore, it’s not easy to find those out on time 😂
