Hey guys I had a search and couldn't find anything so just creating this.

Does the series 1 r33 front bar restrict airflow to the front mount intercoolers/radiator or is it such a minimal thing you would not need to worry about?

I have seen plenty of cars still running the stock front bar with the part cut out to show the cooler and others with just the stock look.

I questioned my number plate blocking my intercooler, but really it must be very little, mine pulls like a freight train no matter what, hot day, number plate half blocking cooler, whatever.... ya cant stop a gt3076 kicking ass lol :)

Would think its minimal as in shouldn't make much diff as there are plenty of s1 r33s getting around with decent power

Not saying it means you can't get power

But would you think it could possibly make more power with the whole intercooler getting air

No it won't stop it making good power, the air flow through the front has nothing to do with how the car makes power.

What it will effect is heat soak.

It will restrict air to the radiator and FMIC, depending on your type of driving will depend on if you notice anything.

Personally, even on mild built track car, I wouldn't worry about cutting it out.

So heat soak doesn't effect power...?

If air to the intercooler has nothing to do with power then why do we all run intercoolers

Unless you mean that you can drive in a way that the car doesn't get heat soaked there for it isn't effected by the airflow

heat soak obviously affect power that is why your car drives like sht in a 50 degrees day compare to a 15 degrees days.

The cut out on the front bumper bar do affect heat exchanging, after squashing a 600x300x75 cooler kit into my s14's stock front bar the edge that is covered is much hotter then the center that is exposed. Got rid of it and installed a open mouth vertex, that worked out much better.

Yep heatsoak definately will have an effect on power, no question at all there.

Just make a air guide up, and block the edges off from the front bar to force the air through.

It will also help cutting, but once you cut - you can't go back :)

This was my main concern also the fact not having a trust worthy reo bar as support.

Might see how I can create something to flow up in there or possibly a cheap 2nd hand front bar
