exactly my thinking. the colour might not be to everyone's taste but the winning bid was lineball with the price of a normal GTR. Why not get a one-off

But it may be tax deductible as it's a charity auction. So they'd be saving up to 46.5% on the purchase which would then make it worth it.

He spent $177k and in return got the benefit of a car. That is not a charitable donation
