camr33 YOUR INCORRECT.

They are a Associate of AAMI and Work Like AAMI too!

Just Cars policy statement:

Just Car is authorised by AAMI to arrange for the
services we offer issue, variation and disposal of Just Car insurance
policies. We are also authorised to deal with and
settle claims on AAMI’s behalf. Just Car does not
receive any remuneration or commission from AAMI
for the services it offers.
When your car is damaged, we will arrange the repair work for you and choose
the repairer who will do the work.
We ordinarily require two independent competitive quotes from repairers we
recommend. If you choose, you can provide one of the quotes from a repairer
you select. Our assessor will review the quotes, including any quote from a
repairer you select, and what is necessary to properly repair your car. We will
choose the repairer who has submitted the more competitive and complete
quote and that will be the repairer who repairs your car.

Just Cars policy is tailored to under 25's, or people with a less than stellar driving history. I was insured with them in my younger years and never had a problem with them.

Have you tried Shannons? They have stricter underwriting guidelines, and you need to meet their criteria, but they do low usage policies and have lower excesses. They also do montly premiums for free.

Ive been insured with them for a few years now, and made 2 claims. Never had a drama.

I had an at fault accident about 4 years ago, I took my car where I wanted it to go. Shannons sent an assessor and there were no problems.

I got rear ended 2 years ago. Shannons was ready to pay me out within a week. I ended up claiming through the other persons insurance, and it took 6 weeks to get my payout.

Just Car does not receive any remuneration or commission from AAMI for the services it offers.

They use their assessor centers etc (like I said, they are owned by the same company) and preferred repairers etc. They are not the same company.
Its like coles and bunnings- Both owned by Wesfarmers, but run as their own independent business.
I have detailed knowledge of this, but cannot go into the hows ;)

Hi mate, Cheers for the speedy reply!

It's their preferred repairs I'm frightened of, I was also rear ended, I had a beautiful Blue TRD Aurion, AAMI’s repairer never blended the colour correct. In the sun light it looked like a frenzy,. Including primer visible. I had it resprayed 3 times, on the 3rd occasion they left over spray on the rear quarters and denied it, the assessor also stated "it shows no spray on the sides from the repairer so it must have been there before"

cost me $800 to have it resprayed privately.

My wife was involved in 2 accidents a rear end from a truck and.. A moron driving in the LHL roundabout to exit the 3rd exit. Her car still has issues…

From what I understand AAMI and Just Cars let you take the vehicle to any repairer of your choice. HOWEVER and that’s a big however, they will not provide updates nor liaise with the repairer, that’s 100% up to you for nominating your own repairer. Any dramas will not be addresses via AAM between the two

I just called RAA and their willing to ensure me, they also have a “freedom of choice, freedom of my own repairer”

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
