I'd kill for the exhaust alone. :O

Glad to see it on the road, awesome build.

lol.....it is great to finally have it back in my garage with all the fruit under the bonnet ;)

here is a quick photo of the Ti exhaust I took yesterday just for your viewing pleasure.

Also, if anyone wants to see the car and see it in action, it will be at Queensland Raceway this Sunday

Did you end up making it to QR on Sunday Ant?

well not exactly Paul.

Due to some very very bad last minute preparation on my behalf I got to QR to late and missed out on the session :(

It was not all too bad though as my fellow club members identified an issue with the engine clutch cooling fan which was rather loose / broken and may have been rather detrimental on track.

Thanks to a lightening quick member I have been able to source a new one which I will install when I have spare time :)

It was disappointing to not get out in track but I guess I will just have to wait a little more for its shakedown.

I will be reviving the restoration side of things very soon so watch this space for all the progress ;)

Yeah better to be feeling over prepared rather than rushed for track days I have found, last place you want anything going wrong is on track!

I have definitely had the bug ironing process with mine, I think any build would be the same.

Look forward to seeing the work continue!

Yeah I 100% agree with you Paul.

Next time I will certainly be more prepared ;)

So, now the car is back from the mechanic its time to get back and do some restoration work on the car.

This time I need to fix up the RHS body kit as its all not all that pretty FTM.

IMG_2433_zps79ee211a.jpg

again this side skirt was installed in a hurry and very limited knowledge about body kit adhesive i.e. hence super glue was even used which has resulted in catastrophic residue that I cannot take off without chipping the paint away (yup only I have myself to blame for that)

IMG_2435_zpse92f3a30.jpg

side skirt removed - all that brake dust

IMG_2436_zpsd0c3a5ae.jpg

arrrrghhhhhhh!!!! - yeah not pretty

IMG_2437_zpseaf46b11.jpg

this side is not too bad

IMG_2441_zpsd7bda5e5.jpg

and most of the adhesive residue would peel off rather easily

IMG_2440_zps02750cc8.jpg

dirt and gravel in the side skirt - we will give that a good clean too

IMG_2446_zps057b434b.jpg

most of it cleaned up (my Mum in the background)

IMG_2448_zps00652477.jpg

side shot of rear fender

IMG_2449_zps6bd7ea1f.jpg

shows signs of being repaired with bad spot welds - car has had a really bad experience sometime in Japan on the RHS

IMG_2450_zps0d03983b.jpg

but were gonna fix as much of it as possible :miner:

car is back on jack stands

IMG_2453_zps74cf446e.jpg

god I hate putting the car on stands - so need to invest in a hoist for sooooo many safety reasons

IMG_2452_zps4be0a8cd.jpg

couldn't resist it - had to take a shot of dat zorst ;)

IMG_2455_zps40567629.jpg

there is bog everywhere here - signs that car got smashed pretty badly and repaired butcher style :/

IMG_2460_zps92d55ecf.jpg

so lets prepped this shall we - as this is gonna be a BIG job to fix

IMG_2461_zps6d121256.jpg

plastic drop sheets work wonders when restoring that's for sure

IMG_2462_zpsf209a975.jpg

Will tackle body work next weekend, so stay tuned

Looking good man I hate seeing them go back up on stands once they're up and running but its for the right reasons I guess. If you want any info on materials/processes with your bodywork your welcome to shoot me a pm anytime. I won't be doing my bodywork till next year cause I want to enjoy the car this summer but I'll definitely be watching yours with interest. :)

WOOH just saw all of the updates from last month! Nice man! Post up some videos :D?

Get it back together and bring it down to SA for SAU Nats :D I'll be entering mine (if i can get it back together in time). Obviously a fairly long drive from GC :( Good opportunity for reliability testing.... just a thought... :)

Sucks about the dodgy repair job... I've been through that before.. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
