So keen to see the suspension work happen! Can't wait ants!
me too Zac. However after speaking with Gary aka sydneykid it will be a nice package for sure. But it ain't cheap so I'm in saving mode FTM but in a few weeks we will see some suspension drool ;)

Today was a big day and got lots done.

First up the rear wheel arch got some TLC

post-5053-13955676560444_thumb.jpg

post-5053-13955677177786_thumb.jpgsmoothed out all the dodgy spot welds

post-5053-13955677657172_thumb.jpgthen I filled in the gaps with some selleys autofix to ensure no rust decides to set in

post-5053-13955678763059_thumb.jpgpretty handy stuff

Then preparation time.

I wiped the wheel arch with some prep wash to remove any dirt and grease

post-5053-13955673938851_thumb.jpg

post-5053-13955674381787_thumb.jpg

Then more preparation work

post-5053-13955683170533_thumb.jpg

Got my big trusty making tape out and.....

post-5053-13955683834138_thumb.jpg

neatly taped around the wheel and inside the wheel arch as well

post-5053-13955684564229_thumb.jpg

Then I attached some newspaper to protect the inside from any unwanted paint spatters. I also covered the rear brakes with an old work shirt that I no longer use

post-5053-13955685255908_thumb.jpg

Now we are ready for painting :)

post-5053-13955686200881_thumb.jpg

I acquired this paint can from super cheap and is the recommended paint for Nissan between 1984 onwards

post-5053-13955687441745_thumb.jpg

Nissan crystal white yeah

Next step was to get RHS N1 side-skirt back on

post-5053-13955700793458_thumb.jpg

Photo of corrected bodywork without side-skirt just for the hell of it

post-5053-13955702885554_thumb.jpg

I then gave the side skirt a quick wipe down from all the dust it had gathered the past few months and then applied som Sikaflex

post-5053-13955703892654_thumb.jpg

post-5053-13955704060028_thumb.jpg

Next I gently made sure I put the side skirt back to where it belongs

post-5053-13955704807353_thumb.jpg

On the car ;)

post-5053-13955705047569_thumb.jpg

Again I used clamps to ensure the side skirt sits flush against the car

post-5053-13955705658852_thumb.jpg

The excess Sikaflex will eventually just be peeled of after it's dried

post-5053-13955706232086_thumb.jpg

Like so

post-5053-1395570664817_thumb.jpg

The car is finally starting to come back together

I also thought I would take the opportunity to follow a trend happening with some builds FTM

post-5053-13955707909685_thumb.jpg

and detail the inner door cards with

CARBON VINYL WRAP!

Do first up

post-5053-13955709592798_thumb.jpg

Clean you're door card as it has collected a fair bit of dust over its time

post-5053-13955710058767_thumb.jpg

Then unscrew the back of the inner door pocket

post-5053-1395571058811_thumb.jpg

Make sure you don't remove the factory glue at the bottom of the inner door pocket card

post-5053-13955711259608_thumb.jpg

I got hold of some 3M carbon vinyl wrap from eBay for about $36 but you.can get it from super cheap about the same price the length I got it for

post-5053-13955712998176_thumb.jpg

Then just measure and apply carefully

post-5053-1395571331604_thumb.jpg

You do not need to cover the entire infer door card as the edges are not visible with the inner door card

post-5053-13955714085519_thumb.jpg

I also wrapped the side open edge for more strength but is not mandatory

post-5053-13955715102579_thumb.jpg

Then just bolt everything back up and admire you're work

post-5053-13955715908051_thumb.jpg

post-5053-13955716055043_thumb.jpg

That's it for now.....more to follow soon :)
