Ah... Should see what he's doing on boostcrusing

Op stick with ur GTS-T upgrade turbo and stuff maybe manual conversion if p-platers are shaming you lol.

If you love Gtr's you best leave it until you can do it 100% right. Well thats what I reckon

haha link us his threads on bc

It is actually...

You like 34, you buy 34

You like 33, you buy 33

looking for suggestion from those who have driven both 33gtr & 34gtr if the 33 is indeed half the car the 34gtr is , as the 34 is twice the price..

obviously im going to drive both before i make my decision but its just a healthy discussion..calm down.

also, heard its not a good idea having a gtr as a daily?was planning to drive it every day as i dont want it to end up like the gtst wasting away in the garage every week to only come out for an hour or two on the weekend. is the gtr not a good daily?hows reliability?.

Of course a GTR isn't a good daily. No skyline is a good daily. Buy a 33 because you won't have the money to maintain a 34R, and if something goes wrong you're in a big pile of shit.

Then buy a shitter to get around in.

Have some common-sense instead of living off boyish dreams, before you end up in tears like a little boy when your engine goes pop.....

oh my it gets worse.. from asking whether to get 33 or 34

now to asking if he can use it as a daily

*sigh*

however!!!!!! i did see a 35 gtr parked at northland shopping centre .. people must have too much money lol

No matter how stupid the question may sound, at least he is asking and trying to find out the answers, instead of just going out and doing things blindly and looking like a clown. Ppl who are just seeking info (no matter how stupid or simple the question may be) are simply doing just that.... Seeking info, and shouldn't be criticized for it. Take it as a compliment that ppl starting out in the skyline world would ask you for the answers to their questions.

what you on about. how much of a "clown" would you look like buying either a 33gtr or a 34gtr?

before i baught one i was tossing up between a 34gtt and a 34gtr, but i was asking stupid questions i was talking to family members that know my circumstances and i took ages to decide before purchasing.

ive got a 34gtr and was driving around a 1500 starlet 99% of the time. why? because i know practicality of a gtr. do i need to post a thread about it? no

just take it as constructive critisism and have a little common sense. a 34 gtr will end up being 60k easy (if you do mods) do you have that money?

and also put aside 5k for a daily because no gtr is a daily unless your weekender is a lambagini lol

I'm talking about him asking if a GTR was a good daily and ends up on the verge of being flamed for it.

That's what I'm on about. Just seems no need for it, That's all... No matter how stupid the question is.

Ive driven the r34 GTR vspec funded by wishtool for a day, 380awkw, its a beast of a car. It does have more luxury items like the onboard computer, throttle response and all that shit. Something which isnt present in the r33, and i also think the r34 gtr is 6 speed manual while the r33 gtr is 5? But in the end its what you want, cause they both have the same engine anyway so its going to give you close to equal performance on the straights. Maybe on the track the r34 GTR might have a slightly better advantage, but i highly doubt your going to be doing that. Also for half the price of a normal r34 GTR you can get a r33 gtr vspec, something to consider. In the end they are both terrific cars, performance wise they are equal. R34 might be more of a head turner, if your into that type of thing.

To the OP. I was in this same situation some time ago and chose the R33 for a few reasons.

And this was the complete basis of the decision. In the areas where I get pleasure in an automobile, does the R34 add much if anything to that pleasure over the R33.

1 - The drive, not for me, I drove many and actually liked the feeling of the R33 better. Now I didn't get to test them on a track true, but as a mountain road blaster, they felt very much the same to me.

2 - The sound, I love a great sounding machine, and they both sound exactly the same to me from the fuel pump priming on start up, to the wonderful howl they make as the climb the tach.

3 - The appearance, mine is not a daily, it's a track and weekend car, and 80% of the time it's sitting in the garage. So I have to love looking at it, and as much as I've stared long and hard at the 34GTRs, I can't see the beauty in the R34's square proportions. Just a taste thing. Three years on and I still just stand there in the garage admiring the bulging arches and the tapered rear of the R33. That never fades.

4 - And this last one may be overly petty and self indulgent, but I don't much like the non GTR Skylines, and I like my GTR to be very clearly a GTR, for me, when I see 32's and 34's, I need to get close to the detail sometimes to define them as GTRs over non, however when see a 33, to me anyway, it is very clearly a GTR. Maybe because I own one, but they just look very different (read Wide and Fat) to their little brothers.

So in the end, I get in the car, and love everything about it, and when I see other GTRs on the road, I don't desire to have or own them. So I know I've bought the right one for me. Ask yourself some similar questions.

And I'm a little dissapointed with some of the responses on here to an OP simply seeking some advice from supposed car enthusiasts who, if they were, would be happy to discuss cars on any level, and above that, want to help out a fellow enthusiast.

Anyway, I guess it's easier for some on this particular forum to type an unuseful response rather than not type a response at all. Not sure how or what, but there must be something it adds to their day. But if that's what you need, go crazy.

Good luck with the decision OP.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

point 4 intrigues me?

I would of thought the other way around on this one:

The r32 gtr has a different bonnet, and wider front guards, and a different rear spoiler as opposed to the stock gts-t, it's a very noticable attribute

the r34 gtr again is the same, different bonnet, wider guards, etc

the r33 gtr on the otherhand looks the same to me personally as the gt25-t, that is to say that most gt25-t's are sporting the same rear spoiler, a smaller GTR badge in the grille, and in most cases have very similar body kits

Again, this is my opinion on the r33 GTR.

Anyway, back to the topic.

No, don't use a GTR as a daily, it's too expensive to run, maintain and use as a daily, i'm doing that right now, and the fuel it takes for 500km is more than a v8 lol

As for the r34 GTR vs the r33 gtr, this simply comes down to you, however, financially, neither will be cheaper to own in the long run...it's an import

Use it as a daily and enjoy, otherwise you will have a car in the garage which hardly gets used and the price depreciation of it sitting there has ruined small nations.

And obviously it will use more fuel than a yaris, its a performance car.

Though my boat is only the pov spec GTST, the GTR eating 500 hp daily is fun.

Not driving a performance car is like having a women and not shagging her at every available occasion.
